Clk500 (c209) 2002 exhaust suggestions please?
Discussion
Recently got one of these and want a bit more of a deep note from the exhaust, I was thinking of resonator delete, but I had a look underneath and it just has what appears to be two secondary cats (also resonated?) along the front section, straight pipe inbetween and the muffler at the back.
Would you suggest something like a magnaflow muffler or maybe flowmaster? Would that make a difference in sound?
I don't want it to drone too excessively, but a nice deep noise when poked, I've seen videos, but it doesn't give a great idea of what it will sound like in the real world.
If the new muffler is the way to go, does anyone have any suggestions which one they personally like, have a sound file for? What am I likely to pay for one? (UK), the back pipe appears to go into the muffler at a sort of 45 degree angle, do any companies custom make one for this car? I would like to twin it from the back, but it's looking like that may be difficult, unless anyone can suggest an easy way?

I have removed the secondary cats from my CLK 55 a couple years ago.
There's some footage on YouTube of it to give an idea of the sound.
Here's a link (hopefully it works)

I had a 230 in yesterday where the CATs were removed, and custom rear boxes from powerflow. It sounded just wonderful, the good thing was you could keep the noise down if you wanted to by just keeping to a light throttle, and it just roared when you pushed it.
It has the same 113 engine, hard to believe that it was not an AMG.
