I know Cotswold gives a discount via various forums, but seem to remember another dealer doing the same service but offering 20%. Is my memory going or did I imagine this ? The other thing was, I'm sure Cotswold used to quote a 15% discount, but now seems to have removed that figure and rather just quotes a price saying it has been discounted. So has the figure dropped or is it varied depending on the order ?
Probably have £2k in parts to order so seems worth seeking out who is best.
Any other suggestions or tips greatly appreciated.
Thanks

As above, get a quote from BMMiniParts, then see what your local dealer can do - they should be able to better it, if not go elsewhere!

Try Leebmann24.

They are based in Germany and are miles cheaper than any UK supplier.

If you email them saying you are on a BMW forum, they apply a discount to your account which varies from 5% up to around 30% on some parts.

Basically I wanted some headlight washers for my E90. BMW UK wanted £120 for both, Leebmann did both washers, new splitters and all bumper fitting hardware and postage for £105.

Create an account on their website and then send a message to them as described by Dannbodge. I just had an oil sump for an E90 delivered from them for £100 cheaper than any BMW dealer in the UK could do even with a discount included. Very impressed by them and their website.

Had a look on that Leebmann site and there prices are identical to those quoted on BMW's own Classic parts shop online. Although everything is priced in Euro money.

Harry Fairbairn BMW offers 15% of via a forum.

The point is if you send them a message as described above you receive a discount on top of the quoted prices. Like everywhere else they're not always cheaper than the UK but often are. Exchange rates obviously play their part. It's another good alternative when you're shopping around.

True. Shame they are missing a trick but not even having an English site and details on order with postage costs etc. 15% is pretty decent and easier to obtain and deal with, but seems worth an email if you a have a decent size order.

Google translate makes it easy. As a guide, 16 euros delivery for an oil sump, arrived in less than a week.

I got my delivery from Leebmann last week. Took 3 days to get the parts from Germany.

Price wise for E90 Headlight washers:
HB wanted £56.24 each for them and Leebmann wanted 52.78 Euros (£37.95)ea.

The first place that I check for parts unless I want them ASAP is Leebmann. Especially with the favourable conversion rate. The parts even come with a proper BMW invoice/reciept

Out of interest , could you post the part number on this.
Thanks

Sort of on topic, I got a headlight washer for my E90 from here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Headlight-Cleaning-W...

Quality seems the same as OEM and I've had no issues with mine.

Emailed Leebmann as suggested and got this reply back.

Hello,
I have you just created as a forum member.
You buy from now on getting a discount.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

I don't see any way of a discount without enter a code as nothing is reduced.

Also seems to be an issue with the site today. I was able to add items to cart and go to checkout and check total costs including shipping. Today , you add an item by then it disappears if you click on either cart or checkout.

Search for your part number without logging in, then log in and a different price with the discount applied should display.

Tried that. Can't get the site to do anything. Every time I add an item and tells me its been added and the quantity can be adjusted on checkout, it show up in the top bar how many items I have, but click on either basket or checkout and it always come back saying there is nothing.
Before I emailed them I could select items and go to the checkout stage where it would total everything and give a shipping cost, now though, nothing whether logged in or out, Same either way.

OK, I suspect my browser was messing with the site, but all is now fine. Placed my first order for 600 Euros worth of parts and prices are good. Got a basic 5% discount of most of the stuff but this can vary and was down to around 2.5% discount on some others. Seems like anything popular aftermarket fit gets less of a discount, but the exchange rate and all of it came under a flat 15 Euro shipping costs, but having played around with the site more heavier items come in for extra postal costs.

One example on a part I have the over the counter dealer price for, Cotswolds discounted price, and Leebmann's price.

UK dealer price £385
Cotswolds £345 inc shipping
Leebmann24 £313 inc shipping and a discount on their base price and exchange variable.

Am awaiting first delivery and so will be interesting to see what the shipping times are like and packaging etc, but right now and at this exchange rate it makes perfect sense to go with Leebmann. Perhaps the only possible problems being slower delivery times if you need urgently, exchange rate variances and possible returns hassle if you order the wrong bit or arrives damaged.

Many thanks for the Leebmann suggestion. Looks like I owe you a beer or two.

Another update. My bits arrived today and was less than impressed with the ( lack of ) packaging. Had 600 Euros worth of parts in one box that was more than twice the size it needed to be and had not one bit of packaging or protection inside.
The top of the box had a gaping hole in it where it looked like the parts had rattled around so much some of them had gone missing. Had to hold the courier there before signing for it and check everything was there, which it was. Not the start I was hoping for.

let us know how you get on with claiming for that as I was looking to place an order of similar value.

also do you know if the discount is applied to the price automatically when you log in or is it at checkout that its applied?
ive emailed them and they've confirmed it has been added to my account
