I've got 40+ gins, add a new one every month, trying to stay away from some of the more mainstream brands as there is a whole new world of small bespoke distillers out there ready for sampling, I'm also really liking some American gins at present. Current faves are:
Aviator (Oregon, USA)
Jinzu (Bristol, UK)
Sibling (Cheltenham, UK)
Cream gin (London, UK)
Monkey 47 (Germany)
Fever Tree is my choice of tonic but have some Schweppes in the fridge now after it was voted the best recently...

I'd rate Martin Miller's Westbourne strength just about the best I've had, especially good straight, Cadenhead's Old Raj is no slouch either, especially the hight strength version , does a great , long, G&T .
Sipsmith is good, but pricey with it , Portabello nice but not exceptional, albeit flavoursome straigh with salt akin to Tequila. I used to buy Plymouth from time to time, but somebody bought it out, changed the bottle and ramped the price up..not bought any since.
There's some good gins out there nowadays, although some are far too pricey for what they are , still, always good to have choice.
If anyone wants to experiment , do yourself a G &T as you would normally. Then add a dash (as you would with bitters) of Balsamic vinegar. It totally transforms the drink, and makes it dangerously quaffable. (As if G&T's aren't quaffable enough)
Obviously, tatstes vary, but I converted several doubters last year , give it a whirl.

It's lovely (When it's not ruined by yucky tonic water)

I never knew anything about gin, but I went to the Bombay Sapphire distillery in Laverstoke recently, and had a great time. Well worth a visit - their guided tour is really good.
Mainly though they have great cocktails. Try the Laverstoke, which is our new favourite for making at home.

My selection at the moment...
(2 x Martin Miller's as I wanted the big girly glass that came with the second one - the gift pack is currently on offer at Ocado if anyone is interested).
Have to say that I agree the Whitley Neill is very good, as someone else mentioned earlier.
Also agree regarding using Fever Tree tonics. The Naturally Light one is a favourite as I'm not a huge fan of sweet things.

Hate to say it, but of all the 'boutique' gins I've tried recently: Mare, Bloom, Bathtub, Opihr, Martin Miller's etc, I still prefer boggo Gordon's.
Heresy I know.
That said, Hendrick's is a staple in summer. OH loathes cucumber but likes the 'rosiness' of Hendrick's in a cocktail with raspberry liqueur, a squeeze of lime and ginger beer.

I have been drinking;
Monkey 47 - excellent award winning German gin - http://www.ginfoundry.com/gin/monkey-47-gin/
Bathtub Navy Strength - almost yellow strong (57%) gin - very flavoursome - http://thecocktailgeek.com/review-bathtub-gin/
