UK Supermarket Deals/Products

In the light of the "ALDI" thread I thought we could embrace the entire UK grocery marketplace.

I'll give it a start with:

TESCO
Fiery Habanero Sausages
£3 for 6
Excellent "bite" for a supermarket sausage and amost zero shrinkage

Personally I don't think there any deals in supermarkets unless they are loss leaders to get us in....... best I ever came across was Tesco doing Finish dishwasher tablets at half price, coupled with finish doing 100% free....... worked out quarter of the price ...... not bought any dishwasher tablets in 5 years .... yes I bought a few

This is exactly the point - Sure the "deals" are short-lived but, post 'em here. Also, some products might be worthy of note hence my reference to th sausage above.

Maybe not such a good idea for a thread, it's just that I really liked the sausages and wanted to share ;-)

Aldi or Lidl smoked ham slices, or much of their cured range of meats and German sausages. Far cheaper and much better quality than the big four supermarkets.

Love the ribs in the brown packet from Lidl (Tennessee?)

Far exceeds the offering from other supermarkets and even the cud offered by Harvester etal.

Sainsburys have Campo Viejo Reserva at £7.75 a bottle, but 6 and get another 25% off so <£6 a bottle, save at least 40% off normal price.

Only downside, max 36 bottles per customer... so go in twice on different days and send the wife in was well

Sainsburys has Grants whiskey 1 ltr for £15 the other day.
