The Df Goblin looks like an interesting entry level kitcar.

nearly 700kg... bit heavy for something so stripped out with a four-pot engine isn't it?

Not too keen on the way the rear strut tops are located, and the front coilover top mounts look like they won't last too long either. Interesting idea, but needs a bit more thought in some areas I think.

Are the rear struts located at all!?

Not too convincing an arrangement is it. I suppose the two almost vertical members that are mostly going to be in tension are OK-ish, but I really didn't like the look of that top transverse link.

Hello all,

My name is Lonny Doyle

I saw that you have expressed some concerns with the rear strut supports and thought it would be a good idea to show you our production design.

This the track version which has a full cage.

We had made the prototype with the ability to move the top of the struts around for testing.

The production frames are going to be limited to camber adjustments only.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome Lonny,

Thank you for taking the time to post here and show us the updated design. I hope you don't take our comments the wrong way - I imagine most contributors have decent motives for what they say!

The new design does look better to my eye, although FWIW, I think I'd still like to see a bit more bracing at both front and back - maybe some manner of strut-top cross-brace could be incorporated? Something to help with the single-shear mountings. A bolt-in item maybe??

I like the idea of the 'single-donor' approach. All my car builds have been very much 'bitsas' with parts from many sources, which tends to make them more expensive and occasionally awkward in tracking down parts.

Best of luck with the project, it certainly looks appealing in a lot of ways.
