Dear Heads,

Anyone know what the Peugeot/Citroen part number is for the PAS relay? I've ordered a Saxo 6555VL

Anyone know any better?

I saw a post a while back where someone disabled the power steering by removing the relay. Have many people done this as I like the idea of a bit more feel of the road. I don't do much slow speed maneuvers so wouldn't mind it being heavy at slow speeds... Any down sides, i guess if not used the power steering is more likely to fail over a period of time?

Anyone done this or have any thoughts?

On my Tuscan convertible after blowing three 60amp relays I changed mine to 75 amp and moved it to the passenger footwell , have done the same with my Sag now. My Tuscan was virtually impossible to steer at slow speed with 255 tyres without the electric PAS .

I imagine on a t car the steering will load up a ton when you least expect it. I.e. you be slowing down to enter a car park/petrol station, as you turn in there is a bump/seam, which pulls the wheel off your hand and turns you the other way onto an imovable or squishy object. My elise with its skinny front tires liked doing this to me... almost got me.

The reason I thought about it was that I had a vx220 in the past and that had no pas , but I guess it is much lighter at the front as the engine is behind you! But you did get a great feel and feedback from the road!
