Downloading now. Wasn't aware of it until this evening when I logged into steam. A sim too by all accounts rather than the arcade rally games of the past.

It has everything I wanted in a dirt game for so long and lost all of its 'americanisms' which annoyed me. But of course, its only on PC frown.

This is exactly the sort of direction the series should be going in. Getting from the naff Dub step music and Ken Block association.

So just quickly tried it - half a stage before I rolled at bent my MkII Escort. I think you guys will like it. I've driven a RWD rally car before - albeit not competitively - and it's a decent approximation. WAY WAY better than the previous offerings.

Graphics are a slight improvement on Dirt 3.

Car choice is good even at the this stage.

It's also promising a hill climb event to come.

Updates later...

Not sure how I missed this but downloading currently and soon to give it a whirl and report back, appears to be going I the right direction and certainly more I the direction on the king daddy in RBR.

It is only early access so could make it to console I suppose if the market is there.

As the first thread, I'll join in here instead! Can't let the conversation fragment. I'm pretty thrilled by this, I plan on getting it tomorrow!

I've been playing this for an hour or so now - and it's great fun for an early access game. Monte-carlo rally at night.. brill smile

It's not RBR, but it's better than the last two Dirt games.

Looks interesting having watched a fews gameplay vids etc. not paying £20+ to play a demo again though, will see how it pans out for now. I'm not desperate for another game atm

Would be interested to hear how it plays on a 360 gamepad as I don't have a wheel.

So I have bought it. Gfx are gorgeous. Only played a few stages, so don't have much to say about the handling apart from that it feels quite good. HArd though. Using joypad, rather than wheel.

They've been quite clever in that respect. There are other views, but the in-cars nail it. I hate it when you see the wheel on screen you have a wheel or controller in front of you in real life as it feels odd. DR has a view which shows you the dash at the very bottom of the screen without showing the wheel. The rain effects on the window are fab but do make it hard to see out the window - as it should be of course.

Re the £20 for a demo comment further above. I think it's much better than Assetto Corsa with respect to what you get for the money. Codies have stated that all additional content will be free as it develops unlike the affore mentioned AC. I see no reason not to dive in now TBH.

Always preferred bonnet cam or bumper cam. Never seen the need to restrict my view of the road by A-pillars! Guess it adds to the immersion on a 3 monitor set up tho.

That motion rig looks insane!

I've not downloaded Dirt Rally yet but even sat in a normal chair Asetto Corsa with the Oculus Rift is incredibly immersive. Looking forward to having a go with the Rift when I download it this evening.

It seems that he built it himself. Props.

Maybe I should sell the Westfield to provide the budget... No maintenance, tax, insurance... But then. No real life.
