Removing rubbing compound from black plastic trim
Discussion
Good Lord I'd never thought i'd be posting up in here but i've just bought a new van and it's been buffed (probably with G6 or similar) to tart it up and remove marks left by removed stickers. They've slopped it on the matt black textured trim here and there and it's stained it creamy coloured. What is the best way to remove it before applying some back to black type stuff? I have many different interesting chemicals at my disposal.....
You know what it's like when you get something new, it has to be right even though it will probably never be done again

Hi Evoluzione, IPA on a micro fibre cloth will remove it or a fav is glass cleaner as it has a concentration of IPA, Autoglym Fast Glass usually does the trick and won't ruin the plastic.
If you want after that get some Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer, brilliant stuff and will keep the black trim looking like new for months. Just don't use TFR or heavy cleaning chemicals on it!!
