Hi,

Total cost at auction: £15 000. Cost of shipping appr. £900. No extra charges to put in traffic in Sweden. Some minor admin fees. Might be a bit steep for an M but I really liked the Martin heritage and the totally 70's color scheme. Hand brake altered but it still has the overdrive so that is sorted somehow. Condition is absolutely immaculate and it runs beautifully.

It will be in good company between a Griffith 500 and a Grantura MkII CC.

And BTW. Original or not. I have looked at it and the changes (switches, electrics, cooling system) seems to be done with finess and I would say it is modestly improved rather than chopped up. Having owned my fair share of TVRs I am fine with the changes. I run the Grantura with aluminium floors and sills so maybe my tolerance is a bit bigger than others...

indeed, looks good, and what TVR is 'original' biggrin
I would not know how to explain such to others.

Nice car Fredrik. I viewed it prior to and watched it go through Brightwell's sale room (they are local to me) and it is a nice looking car that has obviously had a lot of work done and TLC. The switchgear surely would not be difficult to return to OE if desired?

Thanks! I will keep it exactly as it is. I think the switches look great. Might be that I put an "original" row together just to keep on the side in case a style police visits me or if I sell it.. Which will never happen!

Hey! Nice to run into one of the other "Martins"! Wikipedia says 2 known i traffic (incl. mine) and one in Germany. Is it that bad or are there more ones to be found. I think I have seen No3 on sale not so long ago? Please share some advise and pictures if you feel like it!

I used to own a 3000M some 25 years ago, and I have had a 2500 and an S2 along the way. Now the TVRs in my garage are the Griffith and a Grantura. So I am reasonably comfortable with the brand and model. And from what I see, I will be happy with this one. I just need to bring my best 70's clothing out from the wardrobe. And grow some sideburns!

One that was as it left the factory, not difficult really.

No concerns for me at all once you change tyres the car is not as left factory & from where I sit its pretty original anyway ...more importantly as you say Frederick its immaculate and runs brilliantly. Also as a person who sees the 1970s in a much more positive light (esp re british sports cars) i think the colour scheme suits it perfectly.

Am biased as my white 3000m indeed has a brown band with blue pinstripe & matching vinyl roof - both recently refurbished .So enjoy, & congrats on your astute purchase.

and one left this way and the other when parts went out of stock went that way (hand-built cars), older TVR's sometimes went as a kit and made so the owner would like it?
Does TVR has a precieze build sheet from every TVR with every detail exactly described? maybe they do...
but I'm afraid...

It doesn't matter, it's original spec is how it left the factory.

You guys call it as you wish to justify what you have, but if it's not how it left the factory, it's not original.

Does it matter?

Depends, are you buying or are you selling smile

when you talk about the Martin numbered cars, I thought I also read somwere there were 12 made but 10 numbered or something like that?

ah, here something like that>

To mark the first 10 years of Martin Lilly's acquisition of TVR in 1965, 12 anniversary models of the 3000M were built, with each receiving an individually numbered plaque.

They were finished in brown, and fitted with all available extras, including Wolfrace wheels, tinted glass, and an upgraded interior.

Looked at the extensive restoration photo documentation and talked to the former owner for the last 13 years. The handbrake was mounted as the pictures show even before it was restored by him. He only stuck to the oroginal setup when he got the car. So either the setup was changed by a previous owner (but the car was not restored before...) or TVR managed to put one together with this setup. And the OD gearbox sits there and has been there from factory.

Whatever. I am happy with it as it is. And with the other small modifications/improvements that have been done for that matter.

It is subjective to my personal view point (nothing to do with anyone elses and should not be the a taken any other way)...with me it, tells a story of the car, and reminds me that know the car well enough to point out the fact it is out of place (from a time before the seller owned the car).

Interested to know what other bits are peculiar to the Martin Adrian?
