Hi all,

Just looking for some advice for my GF's mum. She's had her Evoque for a few weeks now and has been advised by the dealer to have a Cobra Alarm fitted to it. The guy they've put her in touch with hasn't come back to them at all so she's asked me who to speak to. I've tried calling a friend who is in the business but he's on holiday.

Can anyone recommend a system which offers more protection from the thieving scum?

Are you better off going a bit old school with on of those complete steering wheel covers?

Thanks.

A disklok is going straight on our new Ewok at night when it arrives in October.

I don't trust the standard JLR alarm/security as far as I can hack it.

Finally spoken to someone, they've recommended a Cobra system which is a second alarm and immobiliser which works from the original key and a separate plastic dongle / fob on the key ring. So even if they smash the window and try to hack in via the OBD port and bypass the JLR system the Cobra alarm will still be going crazy and the Cobra immobiliser will stop them starting it.

£360 all in.

Outrageous that we have to spend another £360 to fix JLR's failure to make the vehicle secure.

Agree, Disklok is the way to go, as soon as they see that, they will hopefully move on to another!
