Import restrictions in my retirement "home" make vehicles extremely expensive compared to the west. my current XJ is expiring so am looking to import a replacement.

i need an early model - one that will hit 25 years old in the next 18-24 months as vehicles of this age are classed as antique and attract no import duties. i must have owned it here for at least a year before importing so need something around 23 years old - do XJ's go back that far?

i want petrol (it's so cheap here that it would be rude to use diesel)and as high a spec as possible as it'll be for personal use. it will be used for transporting customers and kit on occasion so spec is not really relevant but higher the better really - possibly a high output limited ?

anyone got anything?, budget is a bit "basic" but not insultingly so

regards
paul

XJ came to the market in 1991, so yes old enough.

You just need to find a 4litre Limited RUST free example.

The rust bit being quite hard prior to around 1997!

Although the main rust spot appears to be the floor under the driver/passenger seat. Easy welding job.
