Convince me to buy a 300E!

I've seen a nice bargain 300E for sale and while at the moment it isn't the coolest or nicest looking thing, with a bit of elbow grease and some decent wheels it could look great!!
It's had a lot done to it and seems to be mechanically sorted... Just needs a little cosmetic work and one of the elec windows sorting.
Who has one of these? Are you happy you bought one?
Not that fuel consumption is that important to me but real world driving what are you getting? I'm hoping for 20's at least...
Should I buy it?? New tyres, just services... Needs nothing mechanically....
The only thing putting me off is my mums old 190E she had when I was about 12, it was a heap of junk, always breaking down! But I've heard for the most part these are reliable old motors....
