WEC different classes in the same race - why??
Discussion
I'm just watching the Spa 6hrs and was wondering why they have the different classes competing in the same race. The speed differential is huge between the Porsches / Audis and the GT cars.
I love the racing but I don't know of any other series that has cars with such different performance.
Anyone know why it is like this?

Having the different classes going all together is what makes it brilliant!
I'd have less interest if it were just 1 grid of 30 P1's. Clearly only the 6 factory cars woukd have a hope - the rest would be irrelevant fluff. Having 4 lead battles at all times is great.
Having 4 abreast when a gte battle is caught by the p2 battle and a p1 trying to pass them all is great. Hell, the series is just great
