I loved their show and listened to it every day at work, I'd even record every show so I could play it back again later in the afternoon.

I stopped listening to Radio 1 when they left. Stop............

He he, loved them! Got a shout out for my 18th birthday years ago and have the recording on cassette somewhere still (how very sad I know!)

Is it Lard's Animal Sanctuary?

seems to be reels of every regular section of the show apart from "the shed of dread"..which is a real shame..

Mustn't ggrumble, happy memories smile

After playing a record they really didn't Want to:

Radcliffe "Well that was a load of rubbish wasn't it?"
Lard: "What? Where?"
Radcliffe "Over there in the bin, look at all that rubbish" hehe

I never realised it until much later on (when I switched to R2) that the pop quiz bit was (I believe) taking the piss out of Ken Bruces 'Pop master'. Chris Moyles also used to lead callers into the old 'Can I say hello to some people?' bit as per Kens show before cutting them off dead, which always made me chuckle as I hate that pointless part laugh

I'm quite liking Lisa Tarbrush on R2, she's on at a bit of an awkward time for listening to the radio, but I love her dirty laugh - I remember she used to team up with Radcliffe when she first started, was that on R1 in the afternoon?
I've got Mark Radcliffes book somewhere - pretty good, although the way he talks sometimes which was a bit like a stammering Bruce Forsyth crossed with John Peel used to get on my tits, dunno if he's changed his style since then as I don't like Folk music.

What was M&Ls band called? I think i've got one or both albums they had out somewhere - bloody awful!

I wonder if the yoof of today will look back on the radio DJs with as much fondness as we do, difficult to say, but to me they have no character.

I've got the entire last show on the NAS drive.

I'm sure that's the one with the Mull of Kintyre on Classic Cuts.

Utter genius.

I really loved their stuff. It kept me going whilst I was working in a soul-destroying sales job.

Hard to believe that the last show was 11 years ago, so it is.
