I guess the answer lies in how the meds may change and if regular check-ups are needed. Slightly different I know but I use vets4pets and was charged £12 for Moglet's prescription for flea treatments that can be called off over 12 months unto the prescribed limit. The only condition is he has to be seen by the vet each year for them to re-issue. This is not a problem as he has his annual booster

If the insurance is not picking up the tab and the vet won't issue a longer prescription for no other reason than to limit your options to purchase meds at a more competitive price then bin them off and find another vet.

Hmm, I was certain we could only charge between £10-£15 Per prescription.

Length of time is vets discretion, do they check your dog every month before dispensing any more meds.

If they are only checking him every 3 months for example they really should do a prescription to cover those 3 months.

I have never heard of such a high px fee tbh.

Checked the RCVS website nothing specific on charges I tried to link it but my phone is playing silly buggers at the mo :/
