I have the rate sheets that Koni did for me when I had Konis built for the GTR, After a couple of leaks on the Intrax shocks. If you send me a E mail,I will send you a copy of the work sheets. I would post it here but I believe its to much detail for this format. Lee
PM sent. Ult-jim.Hi folks..... as it happens, I swapped out my std springs yesterday. My factory std rears were marked 600lbs (markings on the front had worn off, sorry, but I'd guess 400-450lbs maybe?), so this suggests there have been changes over the yrs. My suspension is the double adjustable gold dampers, that were used until recently.
From my research so far, and I my be completely wrong, but I believe it is important that spring rates are matched with damper force and the relationship between the two is critical. The damper is there to control the spring's motion. In the past we have heard of stiffer springs being used, especially for track work, but actually a stiffer spring should be combined with a stiffer damper. With dyno analysis of the damper the optimum spring can be chosen.
I welcome the factory to comment on the development & variation of damper & springs units with the evolution of the car and dyno results if test have been made. At a guess three way adjustables will be available in the next 12 months to handle the additional power in the new cars, especially for fast compression effect of pot holes and uneven road surfaces, plus acceleration squat and brake dive.
