Hi all,

My 'interesting' car history is brief and began with my membership of this site.

It started with a need to distract myself from my Golf 1.6 Tdi borebox company car. My budget was small, I wanted something unusually cheap to insure which still had a large(ish) capacity engine and a bit of style (a subjective matter but I know what I like).

Thanks to the barge thread I ended up with a lovely C124 E320 which I owned for just over a year. Purchased for a smidge over £1,500. A few hundred was spent getting it running perfectly, replacing one of the wings and improving the paintwork somewhat. Looked and drove marvelously;

Thankfully my company car was due to go back roughly 12 months ago. Having not been allowed to use the Merc for work duties I had to find something else. My requirements were; minimum 3 litres, had to be petrol (obviously - in spite of my 20k annual mileage), had to be a manual. The only annoying requirement was needing something new which also had 4 useable seats. So I ended up with this;

Absolutely love it, in spite of the oft referenced shortcomings of the suspension set up and slightly iffy steering etc etc. I actually really like how it looks, but no one seems to agree with me here.

I've added an M performance exhaust which I'm very pleased with.

Bought this from new (no I'm not leasing it), haven't seen another with the oyster/black interior. Also specced it with wood as, in spite of my relatively tender years (29), that's how I like it.
