PHTV - Episode 11

The usual mix of news, videos and comments, plus a very special guest on the Pie and Piston sofa

Hopefully you have already read about Charlie Martin's hillclimbing exploits on the site already. Here she joins James and Dan on PHTV to talk about her career so far, the Formula Renault she's racing this year and the challenges for the season ahead.

Elsewhere we have the forum response to the Audi RS3 and Mercedes GLC plus our favourite PHTV clips from users. The perfect video for your lunch break!

What DOES that pretty lassie say to you at the end of each episode? Is it 'your wife dropped these papers off for you to sign'?

Only 1 comment? Viewing figures haven't dropped that much have they? hehe

I'm enjoying it, I do like the forum talk bit, however, I feel it would be improved if you dived right into the heart of the Ph forums, things like the bargain barge/retro cars thread/ shed of the week etc (you could probably tie it with the classified challenge) And discuss popular threads that Phers have started that week

I've tried to watch these, but honestly, I can't get more than 2 minutes in.
It's excruciating.
Please stop.

So you invite the Prettteee Ladydeee into the "studio" and then make her sit on a box?
Come on lads, hardly fair with you two layabouts lounging in your comfy ,er, lounger whilst she perches uncomfortably on her box! (<<<< no, that's NOT an euphemism.......)

Agreed. I watched about 2 mins of the Porsche sunday service episode. The presenters were comically boring as fk.

Hello from Japan both James and Dan, I enjoyed this episode greatly, thank you for the Forum segment where the banter is very enjoyable. I would like to know more facts about Dangerous Dave in upcoming episodes if possible. Also James can you share any of your beliefs on Japanese cars and your most happy experience with one and maybe do a part of the show on them. By far an best attempt, fourshame any haters who will sacrifice others enjoyment of this! I applaud you both!

Yes this is very true I think this was rude especially in Western culture, in Asian culture it is not rude at all except if a woman is heavily with child then it is offensive. That woman did not look with child but I wish maybe, never mind!

Can you not look so pointedly at your co-host every time you finish delivering a line please, looks a little am-dram, overall 7/10, lots of effort going in to get this up I'm sure, you both need a bit more practice, bit more natural delivery in your style and a better script wouldn't harm either..but well done lads.

Look, i don't mean to offend anyone and i'm sorry if the presenters are reading this. Really not saying it to be deliberately rude, but imho they aren't presenters. I don't mean they should be replaced with some grinning tw*t off a gameshow or some reality tv dreg, but they just aren't landing on screen at all. There's no chemistry and it's actually getting in the way of the content.

Sorry guys, but that's my honest opinion.

Totally agree with others (negative) posts re presenters - they're (Dan in particular - sorry) getting worse if anything. Completely over rides any possibility of enjoying content.

And PLEASE, will people stop pointing out it's free. That is no excuse. These guys are after all on decent (I assume!) salaries from a big employer. Their own and that employer's pride should surely indicate changes - or, at very least, coaching - needed.

And no, I don't think I could do a better job - but I'm not plonking myself in front of the camera.

Apologies - no wish to upset insult anyone. Public performance so frank, public, critique.

Hey, I LOVE Dan's work.
Been reading his stuff way before he got to PH.
This just doesn't work.
e.g.. Dan has a fabulous subversive humour in the written word, that really doesn't come across.
As for " it's free, be grateful" - I'd rather have nothing at all. I actually think it's bad enough to be damaging.....

Blimey you lot are spoilt, the amateurishness (no offence!) is part of the appeal IMO, Dan and James are just normal blokes and that's perfectly fitting for a forum-based TV channel. Drafting in paid stooges in makeup to do it would be wrong.

I thought it was ok, it was certainly interesting to hear Charlie talk about her experiences in hill climb so far.

However I would lose the "studio audience", the video clips of track days were utterly devoid of anything interesting happening and you should give your guests a proper chair!

I must confess I actually come here to read the comments before watching the episode. It's hilarious.

Huge respect to Dan and James for weathering the storm of harsh and sometimes offensive criticism, purely for our entertainment. Keep them coming!

Right then, off to watch episode 11. Judging from the above, it should be a cracker!
