Zaf Iqbal, our doc who left in Jan for family reasons has joined Crystal Palace.

We're looking to send Manquillo home a year early.

There's a rumour that we've offered £22m and Lambert and Enrique to Villa for Benteke. God thinks we should sign him too

And lastly, that Barca kid has signed:

We've also signed an U18 American "wonderkid" Brooks Lennon. Hope he doesn't turn out like the last wonderkid Freddy Adu!

Pleased his agreed terms. We should never be allowing players we want to keep entering the last 12 months of their contracts imo.

"(Skrtel) will also join a growing list of first-teamers who have committed their future to the club in the last 12 months, following in the footsteps of Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson, Jordon Ibe and Jon Flanagan, all of whom have penned new deals.

Midfielder Joe Allen is expected to be next. The Welshman still has two years left on his current Reds deal, but talks over a new one are ongoing, and it is unlikely that there will be any complication. "

If and when Joe does sign a new contract, he won't be anything more than a squad filler. I expect him to get Borini numbers next season, when it comes to making an appearance off the bench. He'll happily sit there and never make a sound and if called upon, will do a job. Kind of player we need in a way.

Joe Allen will be one of the first out of the door if Mr Rodgers comes up short next season.

Whilst I agree that he should be nothing more than a squad filler, I'm certain, that at any and every opportunity, Mr Rodgers will try and play him.

You know you love it! tongue out

I just cannot see Allen starting ahead of Can, Henderson, Milner and Lucas, if he stays.

Maybe so, but it seems squad filler is becoming quite a derogatory term. In reality there are very few that are guaranteed a starting position; Skrtel, Henderson, Coutinho, Sturridge, maybe Firmino and Clyne.

And I think that shows that we actually have quite a strong squad nowadays rather than just a strong XI like we used to have for so many years.

I'd add Mignolet and Milner to that. One of the reasons that Milner signed was to get more starting XI action.
