Yes it's only a rumour. The bit I find hard to believe is that after the shambles of last season, Mr Rodgers would not start a pre season game without his first choice back 4 playing together.

If anyone believes this crap they're a bloody idiot.http://www.liverpool-kop.com/2015/08/sakho-ignored...

Wouldn't believe a word written on liverpool Kop.
I agree Glen. My point really is that surely during the pre season Mr Rodgers would have tried out his first choice back 4.Particularly when you read this http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/liverpool-summer-signing-...
This bit makes me think, barring any injury, he's had his preferred back 4 playing together in pre season.
"The key is getting consistency in that area of the field....Your two centre-halves are critical. They are the tactical decision makers in the game. That balance is important for us this season. We had too many defensive changes last year and that's not something that I like. Hopefully this season we'll be more consistent as a back four."
Mr Rodgers has always favoured Lovren. This is what he said when we bought him
"He is a commanding and powerful presence and clearly has leadership skills, which is important - he fits the profile of player we are looking for."
and more recently he said this when referring to Lovren
"You can be a very good player and not hit it off for some reason or it just takes time"
I think my fear is that Lovren, like Allen before him, is a Mr Rodgers desired signing and perhaps he'll get more opportunities to prove himself that he should. I don't think there are many on here that would start Lovren ahead of Sakho or even Allen ahead of Can next season. But I'm of the opinion that time after time we will see this happen.
From reading that article it appears we will be playing a back 4 this season. I'm thinking we might line up next week a 4213 with, maybe Benteke will start ahead of Ings and Ings ahead of Ibe.
Mignolet
Clyne Skrtel Lovren Gomez
Henderson Milner
Coutinho
Ibe Ings Lallana

Personally I agree with you regarding Sakho being first choice over Lovern, although at times last season with the ball at his feet he looked very nervous.Particularly when you read this http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/liverpool-summer-signing-...

With regards to formations and line ups, I think Firmino will be a regular starter. Thankfully we now have a squad with a bit of quality depth to it, which we have sorely been lacking over the last few seasons.
Mignolet
Clyne Skrtel Sakho Gomez
Can
Henderson Milner
Firmino Benteke Coutinho
Still leaves, Lucas, Lallana,Ings, Ibe, Studge, Lovern,Moreno, Origi.
Be interesting to see how we line up against a very physical Stoke next weekend.

I've not watched much pre season, don't know if Can has figured or how he's done. Agree about Firmino, just can't see him starting at Stoke when he's yet to play with the others in a pre season game. That formation you put up, my main worry is that I think Coutinho's impact on the game is limited played out wide, but then I'd prefer that to being over run in midfield. All very interesting, particularly when you look at who's left on the bench. With regards to formations and line ups, I think Firmino will be a regular starter.
