I see that Rodgers' average league performance was 5th. With the 5th biggest wage bill and 5th biggest commercial income. Funny that. Of course his average may have dipped at the end of this season but we'll never know.
Will Klopps record be better on average when he departs the club? I'm not so sure. And not because I don't rate him as a manager, he's clearly elite, but because the club is not geared towards getting top 4.

Will be very interesting I think, the next few transfer windows. He doesn't have a history of signing REALLY expensive players (or rather, Dortmund didn't). But its clear we now have one of the most highly regarded coaches in the world - that would surely attract some higher calibre players, especially if we start looking like we're going places.

As I said earlier in the thread. If you pay them, they will come.
7 mil+ a year for the new manager. Not a bad gig at all that.
whilst there is some truth in your point, its a high fee but:7 mil+ a year for the new manager. Not a bad gig at all that.
1. is it £7M flat or is that including all sorts of results bonuses? I don't know either btw
2. previously we were talking about 18-23 year old players not a 48 married with kids managers - their outlook and values are very different, the bright lights of London, sun of Spain have far les influence than career challenge
I am not denying of course that we paid top dollar to get our man, but someone said its more like £100k a week/£5M a year without conditional bonuses, which is a bargain compared with some players
I'd rather we paid loads for a good manager. Now we have. FSG will no doubt back him and provide him with what he wants to do the job within reasonable limits - neither party is stupid. If this doesn't get the club back on a more successful footing then we may as well give up altogether.

Ooh, I so like him... Of all the things that has been reported about his playing styles the two that really get me hopeful are 1) the defensive fix and 2)his demands of mega fitness.
If you look at all the league winning teams they were able to run the match to the very end and have the fitness to score match winning goals in the last 10 minutes (e.g. Fergies UTD) and not leak late goals (like us).
Looking forward to see how this plays out.

I think it's safe to say Nobody can call him a Fraud............

I keep hearing (especially on UTD forums) that our squad is ste and needs totally clearing out and starting again and I can't help but think are we talking about the same team here, Coutihno and Firminio ,both Brazil national team players, Sturridge, Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Clyne, all England 1st team players, Emre Can, German International, Benteke Belgium national team, Moreno Spanish team, Sakho France national team, Ings Ibe Gomaz U21 England team, I never saw anyone complaining when they were being signed just 3-4 months ago, If they are played as square pegs in round holes and constantly played out of position in 'strange' formations then yes they will look st as even Messi probably would also, Apparently Klopp tried to sign Benteke, Firminio and Origi whilst he was at Dortmund so he obviously rates them, He will probably bring in another central defender and maybe a goalie and possibly a quality holding midfielder but I very much doubt he really needs to do much other than coach them properly , bring back their confidence again, and most importantly play them back in their strongest positions, To my eyes this potentially could be a very strong attack minded team and that is why Klopp has put his neck onto the chopping block as he see's the potential.
And yes he will sort out our defensive weaknesses very quickly, It will be his top priority.
Put your seatbelts on guys its gonna be a very fast interesting ride.
