They should all be worried. He's going to make us competitors again and I have no doubt he'll attract top talent.
Agreed his name will have pull, that was BR major problem, he was a no one in Europe. I am not sure Sterling would have left if he'd had the chance to work with Kloop, Sanchez still have preferred london? We will never know, but Kloop has pull in that department.Next question where do people see us getting to this year with him?

What would be interesting is asking the players to stand on the pitch where they thing they perform the best, I guess in some places we would be 4 deep and in others no-one at all.
That I would like to see. It'll be interesting to see how he plays Benteke. We have a very unbalanced team imo. 4231 means Sturridge as one of the attacking 3 if Benteke is to be on the pitch at the same time. 442 diamond means Lallana and Firmino compete with Coutinho for one place.
Then we look at the 2 defensive/central midfield positions. Can, Milner, Allen, Henderson and Lucas. It's just average.
Personally I'd go for 442 diamond with
Mignolet
Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
Milner Lucas Can
Coutinho
Sturridge Benteke (Ings until he's fit)
I think Lallana and Allen are on borrowed time.
However, I think these Liverpool threads are crazy. The amount of armchair managers on here, its the only thread which has this. Constant comments about who is good, who is not, what positions your players should be played in, who should be sold, who should be bought, who should be loaned, how the backroom should be managed, what shape team should be played.... who should be sacked....
this constant, often critical analysis - its frankly reaching ridiculous levels.
You have a new manager, its his job. No, really, it is.
This is the only PH football thread that follows this pattern.
I think it would be healthy to give it a break. Both for fans and the club.
Sit back and enjoy. And if you cant enjoy it, let it wash over you....

The occasional tactical debate is good but it happens too much here and nobody will concede a point or acknowledge a different viewpoint.

This is by far the most interesting Football thread on PH due to the ongoing chat and 'debates'.
No one is forcing anyone to read/post here

Sterling may be correct, but to be honest with the deal he got offered from City he would have gone anyway. Sanchez would also probably be in London. Look at it this way, Wenger has done generally well throughout his career, the only issue being Europe and inconsistency in the league. Klopp certainly looks promising, but when it comes down to it is only proven in one club so far, and that is in a country with much less opposition. I'm obviously excited and think he will be an improvement, but if he was a player we'd be a little more careful about expecting too much I think.Next question where do people see us getting to this year with him?

I definitely agree with this - it's going to take time I fear we expect too much too soon.
I think we're all naturally excited at finally getting (someone who is widely seen as) a top manager to the club and all the possibilities that brings - attracting top players, having an exciting team to watch, getting good results, challenging for honours. We haven't had that recently (the "Suarez season" notwithstanding). I'm looking forward to seeing how he can galvanise a decent enough group of players back into how some of them were playing when in our team 2 years ago.Flip Martian said:
As soon as any "this is my formation" stuff gets posted, I skim past. It's meaningless. Debate is great! Posting your ideas on formations or first 11s is not debate.
In a team where the previous manager didn't seem to have any idea of formation it is an issue for debate. For instance, is Cann a centre back?

I am certain that given 300 million and even without inheriting a player like Suarez, Klopp will show us all how much of a better Liverpool manager he is than that clown who has finally been kicked out of the club.
Who knows, he might even find a use for Lovren.
How do you measure that though? It will be very difficult if not nearly impossible to improve on 2nd place in 3 seasons. If the best he does is 3rd or 4th place and a cup or two will that be more success? Not to mention despite all the questions about Rodgers he has the second highest win rate of recent managers. I am happy we have changed managers as I couldn't see Rodgers improving us as nothing he was trying worked, but in terms of stats (apart from cups) Rodgers will not be super easy to beat.Who knows, he might even find a use for Lovren.

It depends. He played well there last season. Yes he made some mistakes, but so would any CB going into a Liverpool side at such a young age. Plus, Skrtel and Lovren made just as many mistakes and they've been CBs a lot longer than he has.
But then some will say he's not a CB just because that's not what he is in FIFA, but each to their own.
RT, is Suarez a striker?
