Simple question; and again all related to our ongoing prospective house purchase; are my figures correct?

Offered and negotiating on a house which has a 16 x 9 hardstanding that needs pulling up and turning into turf. It is placed direct centre of a large garden. Depth I am unsure off but it looks like it was once a garage behind the house. We could take a sledgehammer to it and hire a skip - but the cost of getting someone in to do this I am thinking circa 4 - 500 pounds? Excluding turf which I can lay myself.

Ironically we need the exact same size hardstanding installed at the bottom of the garden to erect a large summer house on - cost to lay - I am thinking a slight dig, levelling, boarding and concrete lay - cost circa £800?

Just trying to make sure our figures are right as we are maxing out to buy the house. There are other small bits to do but this would be a priority.

Cheers!

You could hire a concrete crusher so you can smash it up and re lay in 1 go (ish)

Skips are £200+ these days, and I would think you'd get 16 X 9's worth of rubble and stuff in a single 6 yarder... Just a thought. Go with the previous poster and make your own hardcore !

In your situation, short of money, I would do either of those jobs now. A shed is better on a base of slabs; pick up some 2' x 2' standard flags free on gumtree and lay them on a sprinkling of sand below.

For the hard standing to be removed you may well find that useful for materials coming in and out, eg where will old rads be dumped? It will also be useful fo sawing horses and mixing mortar, etc.
