Standard exhaust

Hi,
I've finally got round to getting a standard mid section and rear silencer for my 03 wagon, after the 4" tailpipe on the rear section, being forced onto the mid section (all flanges cut off!), was just an eyesore (imo).
Weirdly, apart from being whisper quiet and having a tiny single tailpipe ( almost weedy discreet), the car pulls cleaner throughout the gears and feels quicker than before.
Is it all in my head??

I suspect it depends on the quality of the aftermarket system it replaced. Could well be the case if it was a cheapy system purely for the noise.
