No idea why she is still for sale
Discussion
I left TVR ownership 18 months ago and moved more continental with my next purchase.
As a consequence i have not really been on this forum for some time but was lured back when I noticed that the black Sagaris I sold to RG still remains unsold.
She has been there some time now and I was wondering why? I thought I would have a look through a few old threads to see if there were any comments as I know that when these types of cars sit around for some time questions get asked about quality, history etc.
I couldnt find anything but I may have missed it.
It just seems a shame that such a great car has been sitting round without an owner for such a long time. I had her for nigh on 6 years and put 12000 miles on the clock and she never missed a beat.
This isnt a pitch for RG but I am interested as to why she hasnt shifted. Also more than happy to answer any questions should any potential buyers need some piece of mind.

Firstly RG currently have no showroom so you can't view their stock 'en-masse'. So you have to decide on the car you want to see and then make an appointment. It has been this way for a few months.
Next, Sags are becoming garage queens. It's a lot of money to spend on a car that is going to depreciate if it's used. Although in my opinion, TVRs need to be driven.
Finally, there's a good whack of the TVR community who don't want to deal with RG.
That said, it does look a nice Sag.

When I was looking for a Sag last year, I looked at it. It was upstairs and in a very sorry state. Rusty puddle on floor by pedals, bits missing off the engine. Staff didn't give a monkeys and I couldn't wait to get out of there.....
Precisely my experience when i was looking at a car a few years back and after the horror stories i've heard from other customers you start to see a pattern developing mk1fan said:

Mine's no 'GQ'...already one trcak day under its belt this year at Goodwood, off to Spa in July for another and a September road trip to Italy of circa 2,500 mile...ohh and Goodwood Supercar Sunday last week...Millbrook up and coming..... It is amazing how some companies that are totally reliant on their customers for the success of their business get the absolute basics wrong. Most people in the market for a Sag will check on here, so you'd think that there would be consideration for how a car is presented and reviewed by potential customers.
Also had the experience of not getting calls or emails returned, and on one occasion when phoning speaking to a total idiot who didn't seem to know one end of a TVR from the other - so the next call made was to Powers and I got what I needed immediately. C

Sadly a story I can relate to. About a year before purchasing my first T350 I visited Fernhurst and RG. Difference was chalk and cheese. A brief and cold reception at RG whereas Fernhurst spent about an hour showing me the model range, let me measure the cars up, answered plenty of questions and even took me "round back" to see an ultra rare 1965 Grif. Big thumbs up to the gentlemen who run that place - I hope one day I can do business with them. I part exchanged the T350c with str8six who are equally friendly and passionate TVR people and also deserve a big thumbs up.
As for the Sag- the super cheap Hexham Horseless car which was up for sale for most of last year was also black (resprayed from silver.. that's another story). IMHO black is the least appealing colour on a Sag.. just doesn't bring out the mentalness. And secondly, RG cars always seem a touch pricey to me.

Just realised who RG is - Racing Green. d'oh!
Yes, their customer service is poor, at least on the e-mail front. I've sent them a couple of e-mails with zero response. Fernhurst, Str8six and Bespoke Performance (where I ended up buying from) all "get it".
I emailed them last year, asking for a price for their special manifolds and sports cats package (it actually said contact us for price). Never heard back, so fk 'em.Yes, their customer service is poor, at least on the e-mail front. I've sent them a couple of e-mails with zero response.
