I have done some research and have seen the replacement hinges thread and also the option of quick release pins but was wondering if there are any easy options to just open the boot a little more? Or some general tips on making it easier....... I am not the thinnest or tallest person in the world so checking the oil when hot isn't the easiest thing to do leaning over super hot exhaust manifolds and rocker cover! They should have rotated the oil reservoir round so you could have checked the oil through the gap between the bonnet and the nose! Oh good old TVR engineers smile

I have made up a funnel and tube combo to aid topping up, but oil checks are still a bit tricky. Can someone please come up with an easy method to remove the bonnet single handedly please? My girlfriend isn't going to appreciate getting dragged into the garage as and when required.....(to do the bonnet!)

Yes I have seen the pins as an option, although track v road are a fair way from me. Getting some little jobs done at str8six later this month so may ask them if they have any helpful options!

I am not an engineer, but a great solution would be bonnet mountings that 'slide' onto/over the brackets and fix in place. Perhaps with adjustable stops for easy adjustment. You could then open bonnet loosen /remove fixings and slide the whole bonnet off with ease with one person! Although sure someone would have come up with that already if it was viable!!!
