corsa 1.4 diesel 57 suddenly loses power

I have this car about 1 year, it has full service history and well looked after.

I dont do a lot of mileage mostly short journeys.

Recently it has started loosing power occasionally, some days its fine another day it will lose power. I have had a new fuel and air filter, it was still the same.

It has had a diagnostics check which revealed nothing.

A friend of mine who is a mechanic had it for a couple of days,,, he suggested it could be the egr valve which he replaced but again it made no difference.

Its really difficult to get it sorted whe the problem is not always there.

I would appreciate any advise... I have had the usual advise about taking the car on a good run whilst over revving which will help to clean things up, I took t for a 50 mile run but nothing has changed . I feel really uncomfortable about going on the motorway,, when it may suddenly lose power....

Im not familiar with this engine but if it has a maf sensor then this can be cleaned with a non contact electrical type cleaner, it can be a very common problem and is worth trying first.
