Df could be measured off the car's existing load cells and monitored by the FIA, same as they do now for fuel flow

if a car can follow another car I'd measure with the Mk1 Eyeball

It's too subjective. Load measurement is not (quite) the same as turbulent air.

Actually a very good set of questions. I've submitted the survey. I wonder if it will have any influence at all?

I did the autosport survey this morning. I bet the F1 rulemakers ignore my wishes.

If I want to watch refuelling, I could go to Tesco,s, they dont charge me £100 either

seriously these people were bound to fk it up, they have no interest in motor sport, if they thought they could make more money by having a pedestrian crossing on the main straight they would do it

I gave up after reaching 26% complete. What a load of BS.

Is there a choice of banning aerofoils? or windtunnels? - oh, hang on a minute the teams said no to that last week. Which gives you an idea of what's wrong with F1. Teams and drivers don't like their toys taken away from them. That's their vested interest and why they shouldn't have a say in running rules. They said no to ground effects tunnels fearing an arms race of sorts yet at the time happy doing R&D on double diffusers, blown diffusers etc.

Survey is here:

http://gpda.motorsport.com/

Have filled it in, but some of the questions were odd.

I've done the gpda survey. Several odd questions. There was one along the lines of which circuits are essential to keep. There was not the option for none.

I don't see that as an odd question - Why would you see no circuits as essential - do you want to start again completely?

No, I don't see any of the current circuits as being essential to keep. It would not matter to me if Silverstone or Spa or Monaco dropped off the calendar as long as the track that replaced them had the opportunity for close racing and overtaking. I don't have the historic sentimentality that some others do.

The celebrity and perception of F1 questions were strange. I thought fans were being consulted on thoughts about F1 and the racing, not on whether or not we need more celebs involved.

As for the question about a randomised sprinkler system in place to make it a wet race! rolleyes

Spent ages filling it in and then found that they wanted my name and email to submit the survey. I do not want to be spammed / sold at / marketed or otherwise in order to help them with my opinions, so abandoned at that point.

I thought that was a sensible question because F1 DOES trade to a certain extent on the celebrities that attend the events. I call it the "Princess Grace" factor as it's been around since at least the days of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier.

If you want to survey ALL aspects of F1 events, then you need to be asking questions about non-technical matters such as this. There were quite a few questions about sponsors and brands as well - which have been pretty crucial in F1 for almost 50n years but are now in decline.

I must have misunderstood what they were asking. I thought that as an avid fan of the sport for over twenty years, I was going to be asked about the sport itself.

The celeb side doesn't interest me at all. But I see your point about trading on status and character etc.

It could have done with more questions on the technical aspects. It probably shows more about who they think F1 fans are - and how dumb they think we must be.
It does seem that they are assuming the fans AREN'T interested that much in the technology and are mainly interested in the "show".

Maybe that explains so many of the dumb decisions they've made in recent years.
