Hi guys, Im thinking to change the family Disco 4 to the new RRS, looking at the options, we have a fair idea of what we want to spec, but just wondering about the wheels, do any owners of cars with the larger wheels (21"/22") have any comments as to whether it affects the ride, ice/snow ability? I know they look better but does it affect ride/ability etc..?

Also any thoughts from those that own them of what you would consider a must have in terms of spec..? lastly thoughts on ownership etc has it been reliable?

Thanks

Mike

A mate of mine as 22 inch Kahns on his RRS V8 one day at shooting he attempted a slight muddy incline to say he was the laughing stock was an understatement, so yes in his case it did affect the ability, but does look nice. So it's up to you go slightly off road and look a prat, or do spot of posing down the high St and look the dogs.

Thanks, sort of what I feared, but the tyres do have a lot to do with it. If aftermarket Khans, he could have put on crap ultra low profile tyres, I suspect the factory tyres would be better.

Anyone got the factory fitted 21" wheels and have any thoughts?

Cheers

Snow, ice & general comfort... Go for the smaller rims.

I have this for sale at the minute

It's on 22's and drives like st, as suggested, stick with 20's max.

I have a 2015 RRS which rides on factory fit 22" alloy wheels - have no regrets and no complaints. Lovely smooth drive and great grip thumbup

The older shape had much lower profile tyres and the L494 rides on much better rubber (can't remember the profile off by heart but much higher).

I wouldn't have another without 22's

They're non OEM wheels and that car was not designed to ride on 22's.

Factory 22's on the new car will be fine.

I have owned a New Shape 3.0TD HSE sport from new. It replaced a Disco 4. Purchased in Oct '13 and its only visited the dealer once for its annual service. It's covered 13k miles so far.

Options wise:

5 Year transferable Service plan
Pano Roof
Ebony Headlining
21' Alloys
Full size spare alloy
Heated Steering wheel
Privacy Glass
Heated, Memory rear view mirrors
Electrically deployed towbar
Premium carpet mats Plus rubber mats for winter
Boot liner
Mud flaps

I would opt for exactly the same spec again.

Old shape go for 20 inch wheels for the handling. But on the new shape I've got 22s and it handles fine.
