Help with disc breaks and pads

Hi I recently changed my front discs and pads, since doing this I have a moan and sqealing mostly from the front right side would the problem be the cheap pads or the disc's. I bought eicher from Euro car parts, I have since read they are not great but I find breaking fine I just get a sqealing noise epecially after there has been a bit of rust form on the disc.
So again in short is the problem more likely to be the disc or the pads I may need to change.

Assuming you've fitted them correctly, the issue is likely to be the cheap pads. I am all for cost savings where possible but these days I don't fit anything other than OEM pads to my road cars as I have been consistently disappointed with 'OEM equivalent' aftermarket parts.

Hi m8 thanks for the reply, I did use copper grease and the anti sqeal plate on the back so I can't think of anything else, they only sqeal when there is rust build up.

What brand do you recommend.

I use pagid stuff from ECP, always seems okay. The disc "top hats" are coated so don't rust as quickly as the cheapos I've had from GSF.

The brakes on my old e30 used to squeal terribly unless I used pads with anti-squeal shims; basically a sheet of rubber on the back of the pad. Copper grease would help a bit, but not much, those shims silenced the squeal totally.

Rubber? Between pad and piston?

That doesn't sound right to me. Only time I have had brake squeal is when the shims weren't coppasliped (is that a word?) enough.

Rubber or steel shims are common on the piston side of brake pads, the rubber ones usually coming already stuck to the pad - although they can be bought separately.

I am very familiar with steel shims and springs.

I have never though seen rubber in that position.
