Hi all, I have been searching the forum, and can not really find any information on which track day company to use. I can guess that cheapest is not always best, so wondered your thoughts and recommendations? I live near Camberley and also want to drive to the chosen track when I get my toy. I don't have any experience at all, so any tips as well would be fantastic. Thanks!

MSE are old for Combe and airfield days. Lotus on track for Silverstone, Goodwood (if it's quiet enough), Spa and a bunch of great circuits in France , Bookatrack also for Spa and for Donington plus some Northern circuits

Is Brands Hatch your closest track?
If so MSV run good days, or you could come with the Lotus 7 club

I've enjoyed the days I've done with OpenTrack.

Snacks, drinks, photos and tuition are all included in the price.

Looking forward to doing Pembrey again with them next month.

I like BaT, Jonny runs the events very well, also Motorsport Events with Ed and Tasha likewise. I've had mixed experiences with MSV - some of their days (cheaper ones) are really too busy to get decent running and I've also been on a few with them that seem to be shake down tests for race teams which can be quite intimidating - but I think they do some trackdays for less experienced drivers so maybe these are worth a look?

Possibly worth bearing in mind that BookaTrack own and run 12 or so (I've lost count) Caterhams, plus several customers cars, so if you have a mechanical issue there's a fair chance they can help you out.

I am close to Abingdon and was going to book a track day there with my Caterham. Before I did I happened to drive past the end of the runway there and it really didn't look like it would be much fun in a Caterham. Happy to be corrected and the upside is lots of run off but to me it looked dull so I would go Brands Hatch or Castle Combe.

They do novice days, and road car only days (which Caterhams are fine for)

Abingdon's good for a 7, it suits the twisty chicanes and sweeping bends with some decent power the straights are quickly disposed off smile

Having just gone 50/50 on the purchase of a CSR I'm now looking at the Caterham forum as well as my usual TVR Tuscan forum. Having had a VX220 for 9 years (over 50 trackdays) and 6 in the Tuscan I can wholeheartedly recommend Lotus on Track. I think there's a £30 lifetime membership joining fee and then 'pay as you play' as usual. They do all the UK and lots of continental tracks.

The standard of driving is excellent with no boy racers in their M3s charging around. They are very well organised and focus on track safety and etiquette. Well worth considering.

Lotus on Track.

Absolutely fantastic; great people, impeccable track manners and very reasonably priced.

There is a sort of self-help track day FB group too, with the added entertainment of figuring out who's in/out this month wink

javelin are worth a look , whilst there is a mixture of cars the idiots are normally weeded out

Depending on what Caterham you have Bedford can be good but it is very tight on noise testing

If you're in Camberley, Odiham airfield used to run trackdays, I did one maybe 4 years ago which was good for a caterham and obviously only 20 mins away for you. Not sure if they're still running though....
