Which track day company??
Discussion
Hi all, I have been searching the forum, and can not really find any information on which track day company to use. I can guess that cheapest is not always best, so wondered your thoughts and recommendations? I live near Camberley and also want to drive to the chosen track when I get my toy. I don't have any experience at all, so any tips as well would be fantastic. Thanks!
I posed this question in SKCC and it can be found at the following....

I like BaT, Jonny runs the events very well, also Motorsport Events with Ed and Tasha likewise. I've had mixed experiences with MSV - some of their days (cheaper ones) are really too busy to get decent running and I've also been on a few with them that seem to be shake down tests for race teams which can be quite intimidating - but I think they do some trackdays for less experienced drivers so maybe these are worth a look?

I guess I am bang in the middle of Abingdon, Goodwood and Brands...so all just over an hour away...unless someone knows a closer circuit?
I am close to Abingdon and was going to book a track day there with my Caterham. Before I did I happened to drive past the end of the runway there and it really didn't look like it would be much fun in a Caterham. Happy to be corrected and the upside is lots of run off but to me it looked dull so I would go Brands Hatch or Castle Combe.Grubbster said:

They do novice days, and road car only days (which Caterhams are fine for)Moulder said:

Having had a VX220 for 9 years (over 50 trackdays) and 6 in the Tuscan I can wholeheartedly recommend Lotus on Track. I think there's a £30 lifetime membership joining fee and then 'pay as you play' as usual. They do all the UK and lots of continental tracks.
The standard of driving is excellent with no boy racers in their M3s charging around. They are very well organised and focus on track safety and etiquette. Well worth considering.
