Buying a 2006 RRS, anything to look out for?

I think i've go a decent price set up for a 2006 RRS HSE with 94k miles on the clock, i'm looking at around £12k, maybe a bit under if I can negotiate further.

Are there any common issues with these models I should look out for? Anyone bought one recently?

I got one a couple of years ago, slightly older on a 55 plate.

There are lots of common issues! Here goes!

Rear upper tail gate switch rots and stops working- check that works.

front ARB fail regularly, Drive over a speed bump and listen for cluncks.

batteries and alternators- check the correct battery is fitted.

air compressor- check is rises and lowers quickly ish and sits level at all sttings.

Check for black smoke on acceleration- this can be EGR valves, turbo hoses or split intercooler.

wheel bearings, brake discs and pads.

Check for service history- it won't stop things going wrong but at least you'll know it's been looked after.


If it has a sunroof check for leaks

Checks dodgy aftermarket alloys for cracks.
