I think he is trying to say the market is on the turn!
None of what he says makes much sense - I was hoping he could explain himself!
I'm sure he will in good time!

Given the GT3's intended use...it matters less than almost any other Porsche whether it's LHD or RHD. At a 70% premium to a LHD 991 GT3 they looked very expensive....at a premium to a LHD 991 GT3RS it just seemed over priced IMHO. That and the fact the marked for 997 GT3's, 993 Turbo's etc appeared to have found their level over the last six months probably explians the current glut of cars

Isn't the intended use for a GT3 likely to be primarily road use with some track use, so that RHD is likely to be important, whereas the intended use for a GT3 RS is likely to be primarily track use with some road use and hence RHD is likely to be much less important?

I think not. Speculators don't track, or use on road. They just flip. smile

The 997 gt3 is catching up the 991 gt3, more than 30 for sale on piston heads.
but still none in Porsche's network, compared to 19 991 GT3s

to risky with 10k refresh to sell with warranty :-) one would be mad to take on a 997 GT3 and put a 2 year warranty on it.
trade is > 10k off list so people don't bother.

I guess they are starting to get to old for the opc network.

The opc would just trade them out, far less risk than spending money on a tracked out gt3!

don't own out of choice, and the OPC thing is fact they don't want them, not wanted them for a few years, a few have tried to cash in but trade opc bids are low due to the high risk to get to OPC standard and with 2 years warranty.

That's a very childish comment Pete.

I'm sure there are many on here who are able to own a gt3 in the current climate but choose not to.

In answer to my earlier post- if you want an appreciating asset, buy an RS. Any RS...
If you want a depreciating asset, buy a 99!GT3, 991 Turbo, 991 GTS, Especially when they are 70% cheaper in LHD..
As an Investment Advisor, it is basic common sense.
Of course if you are a footballer or banker on a megawage, and you fritter money away, on coke, clubs, women or a 91GT3 thats great for the seller who supplies .......... its your perogative !

Don't get your knickers in a twist, I never said you couldn't afford one, I said you haven't got one, though you clearly would like one as you are all over any GT3 thread at the moment trying to talk them down.

I'd like a cheap little 3,2 or 964 to piss about in, even make an outlaw type car with, however the 12-15k one is long gone so I can't have one, I'm not on every air cooled thread bhing about it though am I.

So yes the whole Porsche prices house of cards might fall down, in fact I hope it does, because then I can keep my already paid for GT3 and buy a nice little air cooled on the cheap.

That's quite different from your previous claims!!

These are cars to be driven, not investments, but the key thing is what price you pay in the first place. And, after recent price rises, it's not clear that all of the RS models will continue to rise from the current high level!

Saying that the RS cars can only go up is simplistic in the extreme!

Pete this thread is about current gt3 prices and the number of car available.

The comments made are people's opinions, no one has actually said they want the market to crash.

Meanwhile we can slip out of the garage, head to our favourite road or even better track and enjoy a wonderful machine. So will the folks that will be picking up the GT4 shortly, too much time spent studying price trends and not enough driving.
