I am rather appalled that a bit of trim fell off. Is it worth taking it back to the dealer (still within a year of purchase) or is the usual reaction "They all do that sir, rather quaint, hand built dontcha know"? Anyone know the part number and if I can get it online?

The should sort it. I bought a used Vantage from Works and the inside leather trim started to come away, took it in and repaired it, no questions asked.

I had a bit on the inside door frame trim also fall off. Turns out it was just on with a bit of double sided tape. Still mine is 5 years old...

Mine is 5 years old this year although so maybe that is the age they start to fall apart. This bit looks like it is held on with two spots of bubble gum.

I've found a couple trim pieces being held on with double sided tape. Got some silicon glue and it seems to be holding up really well.

The trim on my 2013 V8VR was hanging loose at exactly the same place. I noticed after the first service and rang Works service to see if I should pull it off or wait til it falls off. Their advice was to pull it off and use double sided sticky tape to fix it back on- clearly Astons are premiums brands!
I then than rang Grange at Exeter, from where I bought the car and they were brilliant, ordered and delivered a new trim section and after I complained to Works they fitted it. There does seem to a be a bit of an issue with this and its not good advertising seeing a nearly new car with trim hanging off

I've had my 07 just less than a year and I had the same piece of trim come off. I checked the other side and it was starting to pull away. This reminds me I need to track down a source for that part and the rubber seal behind it. I think I'll reattach mine with silicone glue/RTV just to be sure it stays in place.

Ordered it from HWM and they posted it. It was covered under warranty but I had to book it in therefore I did 't bother so it cost about £25

This is actually a "Design Feature" by Aston Martin.......it detracts you from looking at the door mirror mounts which generally corrode and the paint falls off.
Actually, thinking about it now, your door mirror mounts look quite new for a 5 year old car, could it be they have been painted and the trim has been removed and refitted?

I think they are original. Both sides look exactly the same
