We're heading to this bit of Ross-shire next weekend.

Any tips for things to do and see?

I'd be particularly interested in recommendations for good walks (which aren't too long).

Rogie Falls is nice, a few wee climbs but great views if you like waterfalls! Approx a mile

There is a loop around Loch Kinellan 4 miles path a bit rough in places

Dolphin watching in the Firth

Be aware last time I went to Strathpeffer most of the hotels catered to coach trips and there was only one restaurant serving walk ins

Other places off the top of my head: Storehouse at Foulis for a lunch is quite good. Fyrish hill and monument if the weather is good: the walk starts off in woodland and opens out onto the hill, and the monument gives good views of the black isle and firth. It's worth a drive from Contin past Loch Achilty to Strathconnon: the loch is pretty and there's a picnic site, and the road crosses a hydro dam further up.
All of this is within 15mins drive of Strathpeffer.

He is not very holy, but he may have a few moles, and he has been known to chuck a car up a hill or round a sprint track.

Last couple of times it was my car.

Close to where i grew up.
Not sure what you like in life, but scenery is good in most directions.
-Rogie Falls is nice, if wet it can be a bitty slippy.
-Walk up ben wyvis, big flat topped munro behind strathpeffer. its a good day walk but start from the Garve side. Or Fyrish at the back of Evanton is also a shorter but nice walk, can gaze over the scores of stacked rigs!!!
-Pop over to Fortrose/rosemarkie and you have some lovely beaches. Black Isle brewery worth a wander.
-Distillery tours?
-Head up towards Orrin dam and there are Golden Eagles without much looking.
-strathpeffer is a spa town, two of the big hotels cater for ageing folks on bus tours, so be mindful of that. Not a bad thing, maintains a lot of business. Its a pretty place in itself in the old part.
-Golf if you like that sort of thing...
-if your staying in coull house, i heard its OK for food. Otherwise would suggest a wee drive; storehouse near Evanton, Eilian Dubh or crofters bistro in Fortrose. If you like seafood, the Oystercatcher in Balintore used to be stellar but again not been for a few years. Red poppy in strathpeffer used to be good for food but not been for a few years. Inverness is awash with good eateries. The Lewiston inn at the edge of drumnadrochit used to be own/run by the apple cross in folks. Its good for nosh plus you can 'do' the castle if you haven't before.
