Road markings aren't the best, check the markings at 12 sec vs faded markings at 16sec.

I've seen this happen while I've been in lane 1 with cars in front of me, but to me the golf should have been in my lane going onto the roundabout if he was wanting to go straight on, but reviewing this the markings at 12s don't back this up, it certainly doesn't look like he was in the correct lane for going where he went, what do other people think? In future I think I'll stick to the left hand lane rather than making progress on lorries.

I'm just looking at the road markings from what I can see in that video, but don't the road markings (just before the roundabout) show to only use left lane for turning left, and use all 3 lanes to go ahead.

I.E. golf was in a fine lane to go ahead, but you were in the wrong lane (a go ahead only lane) and should have been in left lane to turn left?
I depends on whether you discount the first exit from the roundabout as the 'left' turn or not.

A bit off-topic but not worth creating a new thread for really and I suppose it's relevant to the conversation of cyclist visibility... Also: my thread so nurr.

Some pics of the full set, sorry for hugeness:

I like the laser thing because....well...frickin' lasers. Also because anything that makes me more visibile is good. I'm not sure how visible the lasers actually are from behind, I'd need to get someone else to ride it. I'd suspect that under street lights they're probably almost invisible but on a dark road they might show up. I really have two lights to ensure that if a battery goes I at least have something showing.

For the sake of a few quid it's well worth it.
Yes, all very nice - but it'll make no difference. In fact, the only difference it'll make is to your mind, making you think you will be seen. So actually putting you in slightly more danger with your new perceived sense of protection from people who look but don't see.
I mean this politely but I don't require patronising. I'm quite aware of the risks and being well-lit is better than being completely unlit. I don't go out thinking my LEDs provide an invisible armour.

Now you know.
Even the more regular posters on YouTube can get involved in road rage with other cyclists sometimes.

This is a driving video from the same cyclist.

Whilst I get annoyed at people lane hogging, I don't see that the Golf driver was really achieving anything by moving to the inside lane to pass on these occasions. The first time you can see traffic is coming up behind a coach overtaking an HGV, the second time he gets caught up in traffic joining the motorway other people are staying out to give room for.

Type your car reg into youtube in a few weeks and you'll know as they love to put them in the video description. My van reg actually features on youtube in a helmet cam clip showing me allegedly driving "dangerously" overtaking a bus when there was a cyclist approaching the bus from the opposite direction. Loads of room to easily get past without causing him any inconvenience whatsoever rolleyes.
C'mon you've got to post up a link to this video now biggrinso that we can harshly judge you and claim you're not fit to drive/breed/breathe etc. in typical PH fashion

Seems the only real person at fault was the Zafira, the others were just in a chain trying to avoid him. Can only presume they didn't see what happened to the truck as they were too angry/stressed about their own incidents. I'd imagine that's why no one stopped to help out the truck and make sure the guy was OK.
Yep the camper van did pretty well even if the crockery didnt
The HGV driver has to have a thumbs up too
The idiot was the lane3 Zafira and to some extent those in front for not reading the road ahead.

What about the MLM camper for not moving over once over taking the HGV. st driving all round really, all should have been on the brakes as soon as all the brake lights appeared.

Yeah that is a mess and needs reporting really as that will, if it already hasn't, has cause accidents. Lane discipline on 3 abreast roundabouts is monumentally st at the best of times.
What is odd, they have changed the right turn arrow in lane three from the google pic to a straight on arrow in your video to add more lunacy.

I'm not too unhappy about the campervan. It's not that far ahead to pull in and traffic ahead was beginning to block up and the HGV might have come back up the inside.
I wouldnt have been bothered about it.
Unless there's something happening ahead it's the games the lane3 people are playing that led to this. They should have been further apart and more aware.

Seems like a result of the systematic use of lane 3 by most drivers nowadays as the only lane to use on the motorway. The amount of times I see traffic on motorways almost clear in lane 1, slightly busy in lane 2 and then almost nose to tail in lane 3 is unbelievable. Why people don't pull over into lane 1 or 2 once they've finished their overtake is beyond me.

Do you really think the camper was far enough in front of the truck to pull in? I don't think it was even close especially given the speed difference was not much, be interested in the opinion of a HGV driver though.

Anyhow, this is an American clip but it's an interesting insight into how daft people can be about responsiblity.

Perfect example of how handy a dash cam can be.
You don't have to be a fortune teller to know what she's going to write on her insurance claim form.
Interesting how everyone on the road is speeding at the same speed.
