I'm going to guess at one of the myriad of Ford-based kitcars that were about at the time.

Lucky means being given a car, double lucky says it's a Turner.

Yes, that's a Turner.

This one is a 1960 Mk1 with a Climax engine:

True, there are some minor differences (no two low-production hand-made cars are the same).
Also, the '62 car is probably a Mk 2 and was modified for racing.

Those back lights remind me of my uncle's Hillman Super Minx - same era.

They're very probably the same ones. Turner will have raided somebody's parts bin.

Indeed, the other rear lights are an old Austin Cambridge.
Even Lotus used other people's lights such as the Vauxhall Victor.

Had a lot of racing one of those in the 60's in production sports class , It is a Turner made in Wolverhampton. My car was a rare works racer fitted with a Cosworth Ford GT engine from new . Photo is at Brands Hatch on the entry into Paddock bend

When I first obtained the car it had a different profile, As the car was intended to spend it's life as a racer it was not required to comply with the construction & use regs to be allowed on the street ,so in order to obtain the slightest advantage Jack Turner manufactured the car to be more aerodynamic with a slope front . However during it's competitive time with me the RAC Comps Dep't decided that in prod-sports I had an unfair advantage and required the car to have a standard profile in order to pass tech inspection in the class. photo :- Turner as it left the factory in "AERODYNAMIC" form.

"other" rear lights are Minx & early Rapiers I think. The ones on "your" car are also Rootes. Later non finned Alpines, S/Minx etc.

The rear lights are Sunbeam alpine - all the Turner Mk3's had 'em. Mk2's had Commer Cob rear lights... I need to get out more!
