There were even people around here publicly stating that, as a 'Red Tory', Douglas Alexander was responsible for the closure of the Linwood car factory (notwithstanding he was in high school at the time rolleyes).
These same people are probably unaware that the car factory opened in 1963 under a Conservative government. That government's reasoning for wanting a car factory on Clydeside was to employ all the already unemployed workers from the shipyards that Margaret Thatcher would close down 25 years in the future....

Good luck to her. She's achieved at the age of 20 more than most of the posters on here.

Is it an achievement though or is it just because some of the electorate are stupid?

We had a 25yr old become a Labour councillor recently, his grandparents are already Labour councillors for other Wards in the town, his grandfather having been in the position since 1971. I suspect Labour could field a corpse and it would win.

Ironically the grandfather was head of Education and Social Services yet his own granddaughter is a thieving junkie smackrat.

I suspect it depends on your politics doesn't it. Some people would say that 36.9% of the electorate were stupid, some 30.4%. Others 3.8% and so on.

Fact of the matter is that she is an MP at 20; which is impressive regardless of who it is for.

Absolutely - but there is also the thought that this is an enormous burden to place on someone of that age.

Her choice though, she is an adult. But when I recall the amount of fun I had between the age of 20 and 25, vs. the grinding workload expected of an MP, and the public scrutiny that this girl will be under, I don't envy her.

She stood against an incumbent senior politician, and gubbed him.
Trust me, she 'gubbed' no-one in the election (although she did publicly express a desire to headbutt no voters in the indyref). Most people who voted for her here didn't even know the name or sex of the SNP candidate until they read it on the ballot paper. The SNP activists did all the work, including keeping the profile of Ms. Black low until as late as possible.

When the initial Ashcroft constituency opinion polls were published showing the SNP were leading here she hadn't even been selected as their candidate yet! Speaks volumes.

Sounds like most constituencies, with people voting colour / leader rather than MP.

SNP keep going on about anti austerity, can they or anyone give an example of a country following this policy effectively
Yes. Pre-crash Iceland, Greece, Ireland, Portugal and others enthusiastically followed expansionist policies with no way of ever squaring the books. They followed this approach very effectively to its logical conclusion. In a previous life Germany also went down this route and people ended up taking cash around in wheelbarrows. I think a certain R Mugabe is also a fan.
Talking of Mugabe, I see the SNP have resurrected their land sequestration plans.

This is seriously scarey stuff and a direct contravention of the European Convention on Human Rights. This coming from the party that wants a Scottish veto if the EU referendum favours a UK exit - more rank hypocrisy.

Despite lying about the fact that a Yes vote would have seen an iScotland dumped outside of the EU anyway?

In fact our very own SNP fat man used to talk abut the "arc of prosperity". This was a group of small nations who had discovered financial alchemy and whose people would soon be rich beyond their wildest dreams. The countries included SCOTLUND! SCOTLUND! SCOTLUND! and future enconomic basket cases Ireland and Icelend. Estonia and another Baltic state to to were in there too (I think as much due to their excellent racism as their ability to spunk away billions of pounds of free money) and Norway. Not sure what Norway are doing with that lot as they are not racist and also very sensible fiscally, but then let's not get facts get in the way of a bit of populist tub thumping from Fat Alec.

Anyway after about 2008 the Nats quietly dropped this particular theme. Divots.
But it's "progressive" and progress is good, right? So no need to worry ourselves about these details. Let our children do that,

Socialists do not care about the cost of things because they believe there is an endless stream of other peoples' money and that they are simply 're-distributing' it.

When Mhairi Black says things like 'those responsible for poverty should be afraid' this is what she is talking about - she means that anyone the SNP considers as too wealthy will have their wealth taken from them.

So, the 'principled' wee hypocrite should lead by example - after all, she is earning three-and-a-half times the average salary of Scotland.

In this rush to redistribute the country's wealth, they seem to have forgotten that in order to redistribute, there needs to be some wealth creators left.
Who on earth would stay in Scotland and create employment for others if their success were to be rewarded by having their assets taken from them?

Mental.
