Just seen a trailer for this. It looks amusing.
Reminds me of Who's Harry Crumb/Fletch.

It looks terrible, but then so did Benidorm, that grew on me though.

I enjoyed it. The main character was pretty good at accents I thought. The first one is a 'scene setter'. It should get better!

I'm erring towards the side of no. It was an odd one, there were funny bits, but bits were like an excuse for Kayvan Novak to do accents. The time slot was odd too, like it should have been shown on Sunday evening instead of Pompidou but they made it for the after 9pm by accident, then put it out later again.

This show is so bad I would call it career ending.

Why they put it on at 10.45pm, lord knows, it would have been better placed at 5.30pm!

Very reminiscent of the opening credits for "Hustle".

It was a bit poor, but as with other stuff (Scorpion) I might just give it a few before I give up. The time slot makes it easy to forget to set the recorder though, and I can't see why it should be on so late, yet not late enough to appeal to people coming back from the pub that might be drunk enough to appreciate it more.

It's a weird time of year to show something set in a sunny place - most BBC stuff (Death in Paradise, even Sunburn as I recall) tends to get shown in winter to remind us how nice it is somewhere else.

Hmmm...what a bizarre programme.
It had the feel of a music hall routine, or simply the first run through with no rehearsal.
A lot of the bizarreness can be attributed to the time-slot, I was expecting something a but more...erm, gritty. This is the sort of show I would have expected to see on at 5:15 as the last programme in the kids telly schedule of the day, like SPatz or the one abour bike couriers.
I'll watch it for the one-liners, some of which I will deffo use. biggrin

Oh dear. I love Kayvan Novak from Fonejacker, as I would imagine many people do. You can't dispute his genius in that series - it was truly great.

Apart from Facejacker (which I didn't think worked at all well) I did often wonder why he hadn't popped up more in TV since Fonejacker.

And now...now I think I know why. He's not that great, is he? I really wanted to like this programme, but I thought it was lamentable. I stuck with it until the end, in case I wasn't 'getting' the vibe? But I was extremely underwhelmed at the finish.

Strange really, especially considering the supporting cast too - especially Emma Pierson who was so good in Hotel Babylon. But as gorgeous as she is, it didn't even serve to help this show at all.

The script and dialogue isn't too bad - but I kinda got the feeling that the cast, especially Kayvan, were 'parroting' the script almost TOO quickly and clinically? To the extent that it almost sounded like they were reading it out from a printed sheet. Just came across as false, and not at all natural.

Do I give episode 2 a go or do I bin it now as others have?

Give it one more go. I quite liked it. Didn't love it but would watch it again, quite like a show that I can switch off to

Mind you, it could be something to do with having just watch 3 Walking Dead episodes tonight!!! After them this shoe was a perfect balance hehe

Didn't know it was at the fonejacker guy, that makes sense.
Makes me think if the time slot reflects the people they thought would watch it. The style, everything.

Never liked facejacker.

Certainly a bit of an oddball.

I'll give it one more go, I think.

SO I reckon it has the weird time slot because ITV think it'll tank and they don't wanna waste a good slot on it?

Unlikely to be ITV's decision, though, with it being on BBC1.

Couldn't even finish episode 2. Dire. Some nice jokes but overwhelmed by the machine-gun delivery.

Compare and contrast with Kayvan Novac's part as the imam in Rev - that seemed to fit him brilliantly.

I never liked fonejacker/facejacker or virtually anything he's done. But he was good in Sirens (2011 C4). That was a good series - not sure why it wasn't continued.

Tried watching Suntrap and gave up after 15 mins. Dreadful stuff. Not least as Bradley Walsh is in it.
