Not directly related to the RS, but an observation on the direction Porsche is taking with it's cars.

Oh thanks , I had no idea they had to do this - why's that then ? Cheers smile
Some kind of antedeluvian rule from the past where they thought they needed to get you out of the cars quickly in an accident, plus they require hand signals to pit in and so forth....also permission to pass etc. It is on of the great pleasures I have to get to Europe and not have to do this.

Thanks for this,a interesting view and the last para i agree with, shame porsche can not make a similar and better alfa with carbon tub,i am still waiting with interest on the news of a carbon mid engine drivers car, which apparently is still on the cards, rear engine would be even better please.

But imv, you can apply the PH article to all the modern stuff, not just Porsche, so much BHP and torque these days don't see how many could be driven without the "driver aids"...

Looing forward to see if the GT4 will give back some of the 964RS.....miss that one..

The thing I find frustrating (and would find even more frustrating if I was in the market for one, which regrettably I am not) is when (like all the 997gt3 vids from a year or two ago ) everyone tells us what a bargain it is, at 100K less than a Speziale. . . . . . well, yeah, but try getting one at list , it will cost anyone who doesn't have one on order just as much as the Fezza because they have chosen not to make enough to satisfy demand, again furious so why do they insist on this same BS as they did with the base car, as if you could just pop into your local OPC & get one at 130K rolleyes

Sauger in this context refers to atmospheric / naturally aspirated engines. "Saugen" means "to suck" and we name the NA engines after that because the cylinders suck air into the combustion chamber.

Lots of interesting information in the video. When asked whether he prefers the car with PDK or manual he visibly hesitated for a second and then went into PR-drone mode and said "PDK". I'd bet my rear that you'd get a very different answer off the record.

Talking about the car said it's faster, more stable and much easier to drive than the predecessors. In fact he repeated that statement twice.

Thanks, informative video where he talks a bit more about the aero, and the way it moves around in the slower stuff.

Interesting comment about the GT4 Cayman too, which surprised me.

Totally irrelevant but I would have never guessed that Andrew Frankel with a beard would look like Jean Reno.

I think this is an extremely valid point and one which I would totally agree with smile . I have to say I really enjoyed that video - watching the poor guy try and keep up with the pace car and string a sentence together at the same time as trying not to kill himself - now that's an entertaining review - more like this please - more reality , less showboating , I love it smile

Yep, an element of truth to that. Even back in the late 80s once your front engined/rear wheel car had more than 250 bhp it was already beginning to break traction if pressed on enthusiastically on the road. My E39 M5 from 2002 is technically too powerful for the unknowing boy racer if it did not have some granny aids.

Until recently the 911s managed to overcome rear grip by having the engine over the wheels, but I guess 420+ bhp is about the limit

At times I smile, they spent the best part of 40 years?, trying to get the back end to go round a corner, then someone decided to bring in RWS.......

looking forward to the EVO vid....
