Hello all

My S2 is due back from being painted soon, but one problem I have is that the window rubbers are shot and need to be replaced.

Has anyone replaced these before, and if so, where did you get them from please?

Cheers

Do you mean the channels the windows slide up and down in, or the rubber door seals, or the rubber strips which sit on top of the inside and outside of the door skin?

Sorry, I should have said it's the rubbers on top of the door that "wipe" as the window descends and stops water entering the door between the rubber and the glass.
I think mine are/were original and never done a good job of clearing the glass or providing much of a seal.

Cheers

I can't recall any threads on this subject I'm afraid. Anyone else?

This is wot I used..... Pheonix trim

Not the most sophisticated website but if link doesn't work you're looking for "India rubber T sections", page 21 part No. IRS 1656 EPJ.

If you still have your old ones you'll see a bit of cutting and fiddly stuff is required at the quarter light end.

PS they are purely cosmetic, don't expect them to even touch the glass never mind wipe it evenly when you lower the window or keep any rain out of the door! wink

The garage that are helping with mine purchased some on my behalf (from a company in Tyneside I believe - they specialise in classics.

They come in 1m lengths and are then cut to fit.

I'll try to remember tomorrow to ask them where they are from

You could try this company - they seem to have quite a lot of choice

Or these

Sorry, not sure what the trim looks like but hopefully these might help.
