Good time to buy Euros?

We're off to France in the next couple of months, and the exchange rate currently seems pretty good. Is it worth buying the Euros now (about £1000 worth) or should I wait?
Anyone's guess really, I wouldn't expect a significant swing either way in the short term, the chances of something happening that would result in a tangible difference are remote. After the election, recent economic data etc. Even if it did the kind of money your talking a 10c raise or fall (again unlikely) wouldn't make you feel richer/poorer to the extent you'd notice. We were in the eurozone last month and did it all DIY paying for things like hotels, meals, hire car etc adding up to quote a few k's you do notice over say 7 years ago.
I'd always say get one of the cards with minimal charges, I get pretty much the interbank exchange rate on that given day which the post office, Travelex don't get near. I guess living in the UK with the euro it's less of an issue if you come back with any currency as for most people it won't be long until the next visit into the eurozone. The time you do get bent over with currency is if/when you come to 'sell it back'.
I bought 1k euros just before the election for my holiday in June as the forecasts said it would drop significantly if there was a hung parliament.
So far it has cost me 33Euro. I ordered through travelex for pickup at the airport, however I can cancel my order anytime up to 24 hours before travel without penalty. I'll be having another look a week before I go and I'll cancel and reorder if it's worth it.
