I cannot change the DNS on my BT HomeHub 5 so have changed the DNS on the Apple TV. But when I view my account on the unblock-US site, I do not get the green line to show my device is connected.

Is that normal?

Yeah, pretty much. When I go on the site, the only part of the bar that is green is the bit to say my account is active. Parts 2 and 3 of it are clear.

To check it's working, just change the region, then close and reopen Netflix on the Apple TV and see if the content is different. It should be. That's exactly how it work on all my devices.

Sometimes you might find that if your ISP has changed your IP address (if you've turned off your router and switched it back on for example), you can't log in to Netflix, if you just go onto the unblock-us site there will be a yellow bar saying your Internet address has changed, just click that and it will work again.

Pardon the (continuing) ignorance but how does that work on the Apple TV? the Netflix "app", or applet, or whatever it is, is already there? So if I select a region from my Mac, the Apple TV won't know I've done that surely?
When you set the region on their website you are setting your account to go through whichever region you want via their DNS, so as your Apple TV will have the unblock-us DNS configured, that will then go to whichever region you have set on your account, regardless of what device you used to set it...if that makes sense. It's not your Netflix app that is changing, it's the DNS settings that it uses

Thanks - I'm doing something wrong as when I change the location (via iTunes menu selection), it's not changing the contents. It's sticking with the US contents, even when I switch off the Apple TV at the wall.

Not sure what you mean by iTunes menu selection. The region selection box is on the unblock-us website. Change it on there

Fantastic - works like a charm!

All instructions on unblock-us site suggested to change the location via the iTunes submenu on Apple TV. In future, I will listen to you!

Thank you. There is a free trial of unblock so I'll have a look at that.

Does anyone know of an easy way for me to download a couple of seasons of breaking bad from Netflix?

I wanted to enjoy the rest of it on flight to the US.

Can see that iTunes Season 5 costs nearly £18!!

Thanks G

Recording media that's licensed for streaming isn't strictly lawful, but is probably possible using a PC or Mac application.
