Thought I would give a little update/rundown on the Smart Brabus we run
They are a special car in standard form
The Smart ForFour shares a platform with the Mitsubishi Colt, the hottest of which is the CZT with 147hp.
Brabus took a petrol ForFour and gutted it, then fitted the colt CZT engine and basic running gear, then fitted uprated Sachs suspension, brakes etc, larger intercooler and it's own ecu. Then the body kit and 17" Brabus Monoblock wheels. The result was 177PS (174hp) and awesome handling as just 1090KG due to plastic door skins, plastic bonnet etc, but very safe due to the Smart Tridion safety cell.
Our first stage was to improve basic breathing with a panel filter in a modified airbox and a less restrictive backbox. The result on standard boost was 185hp.
The car was like this for a couple of years and has proved very capable on track keeping up with Civic type R's and Clio RS's etc at Snetterton and Cadwell
The standard Colt exhaust manifold is renowned to be restrictive in the CZT tuning circles so an uprated manifold was found. I flowed a standard turbo elbow

I then made up intercooler hard pipes and relocated the battery to facilitate a better positioned custom intake system

Due to the Brabus ecu it is not easy to get a remap on it. A guy was found who has got into it so we went down to see what he could do.
Half a day on the rollers gave us this

Not bad for 1468cc and a tiny turbo.
It now has the same power to weight as the famous Metro and has better grip
We are trying it out on track on the evening of 3rd june. We run uprated pads, but may need bigger brakes now!
