Recently acquired a 2009 B8 TDI which has done high miles but runs beautifully.

I had sold a F31 320D Xdrive which was a 8 speed auto Msport which I fitted a Steinbauer Tuning model taking it to 218bhp and 340lbs.

Pretty quick but I had to put AC Schnitzer springs supplied by Rossiters following recommendations from other Xdrive users.
The Xdrive runs SE suspension believe it or not.....rolls like boat/barge like qualities.

It was okay but very barge like and after 9 months I got shot of it before I lost even more money. It was a pre reg car with delivery miles and my local BMW dealer had knocked 13k off the RRP.

The car was very remote and had no feel through the steering but it's Achilles heal was it's engine....what a horrible gruff noisy and unrefined unit the 320d is. There is a new unit out now but I was surprised how bad it was compared to the Audi unit.
The Audi unit is much less punchy as our's is only 143 compared to the revvy 184 BMW diesel unit but we all remarked how noisy it was especially low speed and around town or on take off. Most on BIMMERPOST drive the 6 cylinder 330/335d's so weren't interested in the 320d variety. It did drop like a stone and it seems every other car on the road is a new or 2-3 yr old 3 series.

I had Revo'd a previous 140 A4 and was wondering what the response was like on the B8 version.....I assume it's near identical to the B7 A4?

Any oppinions or experience greatfully received.

Also is the Revo stage 2 DPF delete worth doing?

Anyone?

Think I will give Revo a go.

Has anyone mapped their 143 B8 TDI who can share their experience?

Don't know how relevant this is given my car's an Ibiza FR but it's got the 143 CR engine which I'd imagine is very similar to yours. After much research I went for a Shark remap as they seem to have the best reputation with VAG cars without being overly aggressive (as I've heard Revo can be). For some reason I think the Shark map actually releases more power and given their normally conservative reputation, I think it's a win/win situation.

The car drive's just as smoothly as it did before, still sounds the same and is quite a bit quicker (not that I really use all the performance all that often). It's seemed to have lost a couple of mpg but it's barely noticeable. The car regens and behaves in every other way like it used to before so all in all I'd definitely recommend it.

You probably already know this, but make sure you check the modified car insurance companies rather than the regular ones for quotes. Thanks to doing that, I'm paying the same premium as I used to prior to the map.
