Does anyone have experience of using these for remapping? I was just about to do a home remap on my Merc and whilst casting about for a reputable file service one of the people I spoke to advised me that the tool is a bit unreliable and prone to crashing during an upload.

Does anyone have anything to say about this, true, untrue, etc.?

Should I even consider doing this myself? (I don't see why personally so long as I have the right tool).

I've used it for the inverse - pulling a map off an ECU in boot mode and it worked well.
For an upload, I use(d) either MPPS or NefMoto.

I do find all these tools are quite particular about driver versions (especially avoiding multiple versions on the machine), ECU & laptop power, baud rate, etc, but once set up, they seem to work OK for me.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. The chap I spoke seemed to think that it would download info quite well but crash on the upload resulting in the CPU having to be removed and reset on a board. Have you used MPPS on a Merc at all?

Audi. Although it's less a function of the car manufacturer - and more a case of what the ECU is. Which in my case was a Motronic v7.1.1
