Strange how times change,at one time i remember people dying to rip off their big, bulky rear ends, now they're suffering from special needs??
Is this because srads are getting a bit 'appreciated' and its now looked down upon to alter them?

Ever since the dawn of time when the first 'gixxers' came out there has been a hardcore minority majority of shellsuited trainer wearing owners who think that covering their bikes in shiny anodised tat and cut down rear ends with dubious rear light conversions complete with crappy integrated indicators makes them look like top dog at the chippy on the council estate, which made standard unmolested bikes quite rare but much more appealing to some (like me).

There's nothing wrong with altering them, but cosmetics and bodywork is all a matter of taste, some may think their chosen mods look great, others may not, I'm thinking of putting a K5 front end on mine so I can have gold forks and radial brakes, but I would leave the bodywork as is because it's a classic shape.

Your bike looks good in white, I bet you won't be doing many long rides on it, my TT600 track bike was really uncomfortable after 25 road miles, it was like sitting on a plank with the 10mm of 'race' seat foam.

Sorry getmecoat

In my defence I've got to be cruel to be kind - I'm saying those things for your own good, it hurts me more than it hurts you.

But seriously - it will look miles better as standard.

To be fair to the OP, he is putting an ex-track bike back on the road - I hate to think what boxes of bits he has.

Looking at the way the undertray is not fitting under the edges of the tail piece I'm guessing it has a race seat unit on it.

Ideally, yes put back to standard but I guess most of the lugs have been ground off of the sub-frame?

If that's a case, I'd personally leave the track look & try to fabricate an universal rear light (enduro LED) and make my own plate mount from what ever points are left back there.

Before Dog Star has another go, you'd better cut that exhaust mount bolt a little shorter smile
