If it wasn't so fking irritating, it would be funny. What an awful bunch of people the Braveheart Bunch are up there.

Makes you wonder who would trade with them if they get their independence. Everything they say or do ends up being 2 faced at best, or a lie if you'd prefer, or spun to suit their needs,or never good enough. Would the EU accept them, knowing how nothing is ever good enough for them and all they do is take take take and then claim victimisation and then want to take more?

There are only two truly abhorrent political parties in the UK. And strangely, both end with the same two words... "... National Party".

Nesbits.

The points opulentbob make are all valid.

They should make you cringe, not laugh. I'm surprised to see you wave the 'doesn't live in Scotland so can't have an opinion'.

The mood is changing as you can see the union is not at any price. Of course it is better for us to stay together, to be one UK, but if the majority if Scots really want to tell us all to shove it we'll have to find a way to go our ways. It will be a total mess, but thats Nationalism for you - never ends well.

It really is time for scots who support the UK to stand up and deal with who they have put in westminster - if they value the UK.

The sad thing is all the blue face painted idiots won't twig what they've thrown away until it maybe too late.

What do you expect the rUK to do? Give into SNP blackmail to get Scotland an even better and unfairer deal than they have now? Really?

I'm sure you'll soon see the SNP cannot bargain for anything that isn't in the UKs interests. They are useless in westminster and your threats to 'really go next time' are hollow and pathetic.

I look forward to the rebasing of trident in plymouth - the 8000 skilled jobs will be most welcome and appreciated.

Nesbits is my mum's colloquialism. I quite like it. She's from North of the border by the way. And she was cut to pieces by the division and hate coming from your sort - including members of her extended family, to the point that all contact with them has been severed. That came from one side only. I didnt appreciate seeing a kind and decent woman (who's worked her whole life) in her 70s reduced to tears over it.

And considering you were spouting on about how us (former) pro-union types were making assumptions about your background and your vote on the referendum etc, your wee dig about where I'm based is a bit rich. I am paid from the UK, and I pay my full UK taxes, pay a mortgage in the UK and my home office is Essex. This is a semi-long term working trip, not a life choice. Not that it's any of your business.

So yeah, nesbits. Nesbits nesbits nesbits. Wee chippy "honking" nesbits.

And by the way the weather here is awesome. And the food. Something you'll have little concept of seeing it's neither battered, deep fried, or free (ie paid for by someone else) from a food bank.

There. That should give you some ammo for a crack back.

smile

ETA although the food does tend to give you the trots. I'm longing for some stodge, a nice fat roast beef dinner would be awesome. Beef is banned here and I'm missing it hugely.

Anything to back this assertion up?
Natalie Bennett was on the Jeremy Vine show the day after the election feeling very sore about the Green Party getting almost as many votes as the SNP but only having 1 MP compared to the Nat's 56. It was billed as a rant against the first-past-the-post election system, but she was not mincing her words with regards to the disproportionate representation this gave the SNP.

Standard nat pleasantness I see.

I think most in Scotland would much rather people with your hateful attitude leave.

What even happened to Scotland being a land of tolerance and friendliness. How is it possible that so many people in Scotland have been turned in to the complete opposite?

Is the SNP indoctrination technique really that effective?

Alex Salmond's 'charitable donations' are also coming under scrutiny after pledging to give away half his resettlement pay-off when he resigned as First Minister, plus claiming that he gives the excess of his salary over-and-above the national average to good causes. The good cause is the "Mary Salmond Trust" (named after fat Eck's mother) and declared a single-figure income after expenses in the last financial year.

Not a tax-fiddle then...?!

The SNP really are like those TV evangelists in the US who were preaching goodness and the 'word of God' to their gullible believers while spending the money they raised on coke and hookers!

I think they believe that "where we're going, we won't need money". They don't care if the rich leave because that will make it a socialist Utopia. It's only after the wealth creators have left that they find out how much they needed them.

?? Spending £10m to secure a golf tournament worth between £200-300m to the local and Scottish economy? Doesn't sound like a bad way to spend £10m.

And the fact that you can use the tickets intended for "junior golfers, veterans and other 'inspirational Scots'" to buy off your political cronies is just icing on the cake, yeah? Or perhaps in SNPland, ony SNP'ers qualify as "inspirational Scots".

I think that's a fairly optimistic figure - 1/10th of that more likely.

I have no issue with the local investment to secure the cup at all. It is more of an issue to give away thousands of pounds worth of tickets to your rich mates. The worst part of course is doing that AND THEN blaming others for various issues such as foodbanks. Hypocritical nationalist muppetry.

It is also worth remembering that - when looking at the legitimate spending on the cup - that is millions of pounds of UK taxpayers money that I am happy to see benefiting a local part of the UK.

Nationalists - think about this UK money being spent for the benefit of Scotland next time before you try to make a cheap political point about Scotland funding HS2 and its not in Scotland.

Well the EU are very reluctant to jettison Greece, who share all those traits. I'm sure an SNP Scotland would fit right in.

So 7,000 tix at maybe 150-200 quid average? We're taking a seven* figure sum here. Probably even a pound from every taxpayer in Scotland to send Salmond's pals to watch the golf...?
