Hi, I usually post under 320touring, but the login changes have papped me to a different account.

Anyways, at the weekend there I had an opportunity to rent an XF for providing a bridal car at my friend's wedding.

I was impressed by it-much more than I expected to be..

I'd be interested in hearing your experiences and thoughts!

My blog entry of the review is here

Thanks- it really wasn't a chore;)
as you say I'm just trying to write balanced reviews that shows what cars are actually like on a day to day basis.

Hopefully it may provide something useful to someone considering buying one.

Great review.

The new XF is going to have to go some to improve on the current XF. Even as it is, an 8 year old car still looks better, and rides better than anything in it's class coming out of Germany.

Thanks!

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised with it- feels closer to a 7 series than a 5 series, if you understand?

It could almost be a class up

A useful unbiased report the OP has provided. MrsC is hopefully getting a 2.2 200 ps XF Sportbrake R Black Edition through work & the more I read, the more I like the car. It's interesting to read it bridges the 5/7 series gap.

Nearly two weeks on from driving this, I'm still seeing these everywhere- think it may have made an impression!

How long before they get down to sub 1k territory (my preferred hunting ground)?
