Yes in the Rover along with Bill Lancashire. Hope to be in top five certainly don't have an answer for the 4.8 of bills but shall have a good go.

car 77 Future classic's
Well Done Pete great to catch up yesterday and your car looks brilliant good result. Car 77 Rover in Future Classic's went really well, won our class "A" and 9th overall The best racing I have had in the Rover car for quite some time. The video is Epic will down load to you tube as soon as I can, you will love it so much racing with Porsche it last all 40 mins of the race. I havn't watched the rear camera vid yet but judging by the rubbing it will be Epic as well. That was what I go racing for, bloody Fantastic still buzzing now. Roll on Spa in three weeks to do it all again with a full grid of 73 cars.
A special thanks to Tim who took my pit stop by the scruff of the neck the fastest we have ever done. Thanx man a real pleasure to have you on our side yesterday. Best of luck to all who are racing today hope it is as good racing as yesterday

How surprised were you at the performance of some of those converted road cars with a lot less power, and carrying more weight, than the pure race Tuscan. Capri for instance?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZCtEmbSEdw

A little surprised at some to be honest John although my driving capability is pretty piss poor , my 3.0lts capri I had as a lad didn't go down to the co-op as well as if you had used one from Saturday's race, but as we know those capri's don't have your normal 2.9 cologne engine in as the originals, you can breath on them as much as you want. As long as it is ford I think i'm right in saying with out looking at the regs. They certainly went like the clappers as if they had turbo's on board. All excellent racing though throughout the grid no matter where you are that's what I like about future classi's. That was the first time the Capri's had been out in force in CSCC and good to see them at last. I wonder where they have been racing? I do have quite a few racing drivers excuses I could spout but i'm sure we have all heard them a million times before LOL or is the power and weight of the Tuscan too much for the 1Bs?
My Tuscan goes very well on Toyo 888's so I can't blame the tyres although come to think of it they were..................My Tuscan is a as it was raced in 1989 later by Mr McAlpine a 4.5lts on original speck although I am considering putting coil packs on instead of the 25 year old distributor other wise it is standard 4.5 .I did put in the added side impact bars but I see that as safety issue and adding weight and not detracting from what the car is. I have my other Tuscan to tune up to the nuts and play with .

Yep I am at Donnington and beer sounds good. Glad your car is surfacing again this year. I have been told that the rapid 31 Capri I had trouble keeping behind was in the 70's thrashed around in the BTCC and still driven by the same driver. here he is in mid seventy's "Gert lush" as they say in Bristol. Hui will know all about these beauty's i'm sureHopefully out in September at Donington with the old M. If you're around we can share excuses after the race over a beer

As my name has been mentioned in regard to Capris and "Gert Lush's from Bristol" I thought I would chuck in my halfpenny's worth. My history in Capris was short and I only ever raced Gerry Marshall's 2.8 Injection Capri in production Saloons in 1984 and Ian Khan's 2.8 in 1985.
The picture is a Mk 1 3.4 litre GA Cologne Capri or a replica. The "Gert Lush from Bristol" would be Vince Woodman who was a great driver in his day (1970s) and a competitor of mine, albeit in a different class, in Thundersaloons in the late 1980s. I have looked at the results sheet and I see that Graham "Skid" Scarborough from Letchworth or nearby was driving No 31 and his car is described as a 3 litre car. I am surprised if the picture is representative as when I raced with Skid in the 1980's in production saloons he used a Mark 2 Capri and he also used a Mark 2 in Group A (BTCC). Is the picture an old one of Vince or has Skid racing a replica?
